The Boy Scouts of America, an organization that mentors over 2.8 million young men to help them develop life skills, recently reaffirmed their policy of disallowing "open or avowed homosexuals." DoSomething.org and its members want to change this. They ve launched a national petition urging young people everywhere to ask the leaders of the Boy Scouts of America to value all young people equally by ending their exclusionary policy. DoSomething.org will award a $1,000 scholarship to a student that has gone beyond being a petition signer, to showing true leadership, by inviting as many friends as he or she can to sign the petition. No minimum GPA. No essay. Just spread awareness of the issue. You must be no more than 26 years of age and a U.S. or Canadian citizen to be considered for this award.
