The Paul Quinn College Presidential Scholarship is renewable and offered to students based on their history of academic achievement and potential to become an agent of change as a servant leader. The Presidential Scholarship covers (1) tuition, (2) room and board, and (3) textbooks in the student's first year of enrollment.

Criteria:
The applicant must be a high school senior who is projected to graduate in the top fifteen percent (15%) of his/her class with at least a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 or he/she must be a transfer student who has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 at his/her previous college.

+ A high school applicant must have at least a composite score of 23 on the ACT or a combined score of 1590 on the SAT.
+ The applicant must submit a typewritten essay on the following topic: "Identify and Discuss the Three Most Important Characteristics of an Effective Servant Leader". There is no limit to the words or pages for the essay.
+ The applicant must apply for financial aid and include Paul Quinn's code 003602.
+ The applicant must commit to applying for at least two external scholarships each year (resources are listed below).
+ The applicant must sign the Presidential Scholar Letter of Intent.
+ Finally, the applicant must complete interviews with President Michael J. Sorrell, Esq. and the Presidential Scholars Panel.

To maintain the scholarship, a recipient must:
+ Maintain at least a 3.5 GPA while at Paul Quinn College,
+ Participate in at least one approved student organization or activity that demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to servant leadership,
+ Graduate in four (4) years or fewer,
+ Commit no violations of the College's disciplinary policies or honor codes, and
+ Live on campus for the first two (2) years of his/her enrollment.
