Eligible students may apply for one of the three following scholarships

· The Willie L. Gaddis Business & Entrepreneurial Scholarship (Male).

· The Vivian A. Thompson Gaddis Music Scholarship (Female).

· The Debra A. Gaddis-Sawyer Memorial Scholarship (2nd Year Non-Traditional Student, i.e. single parent, older student, can be part-time student, male or female).



The awards for the 2005-2006 school year are $1,000 each and are intended for tuition only. Funding availability considered, all scholarship recipients will be able to apply for a renewable award of up to $2,000 annually through graduation or up to five (5) years pending certain criteria is met.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for a Gaddis Foundation Scholarship, you must:

Be a resident of Franklin County, Ohio (minimum of one (1) year.
Be of African-American descent.
Be accepted for full-time enrollment at an accredited junior or community college or university, or an accredited four-year college or university. If you are applying for the non-traditional scholarship, part-time enrollment is acceptable.
Possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from high school, 3.0 or higher from college for the non-traditional student scholarship. (Applicant may provide a statement for any special circumstances for GPA below 3.0, if related to medical, physical or psychological condition).
Demonstrate any financial need.
Application Process

Complete application must be received no later than June 15, 2005. Faxed or late submissions will not be accepted.
Applicants should submit a wallet size photograph.
Applicants will be notified via telephone by June 20th regarding the interview schedule. Interviews will be held June 27 & 28, 2005.
Applicants should plan to attend an Enrichment Session on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Notification & Award Process

All applicants will be invited to the Gaddis Foundation Scholarship Reception on July 23, 2005 at Goodale Park from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Recipients will be announced at that time. The event is free and seating is limited.
