The Sherry R. Arnstein Underrepresented Minority Scholarship is named after former AACOM Executive Director Sherry R. Arnstein. The program has benefited students since 2012. From the first endowment, AACOM continued to sponsor the initiative, which has steadily grown and has many more applicants and scholarships being offered each year.
The scholarship clearly has a population approach that prioritizes students belonging to one of the following communities: African American, Native American, Alaska Native or Native Hawaiian, mainland Puerto Rican, or Hispanic American. If the applicant does not meet this criteria, they will not be eligible. Each student who wins the scholarship will receive a grant of $1,000. The scholarship is only awarded once to the winners; they cannot be candidates again once they have previously received the prize. | |
