2024 Black Student Success Scholarship

Inquire Higher is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes the success of Black students and professionals through multimedia and community support. It will award The Black Student Success Scholarship to at least two students in 2024: 1) one high school senior who plans to enter college or trade school in Fall 2024, and 2) a current undergraduate or trade school student who expects to graduate in Fall 2024 or later!

Scholarships amounts will be awarded up to $1,500, dependent on funds and number of qualified applicants. Winners will also have access to college success mentorship and career guidance resources from Inquire Higher. We understand that every dollar counts, and want to provide students with the opportunity to create one less worry as they begin their college or career journeys.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

- Must currently hold a 2.75 unweighted, cumulative GPA or higher
- High school senior or undergraduate student at the time of submitting the application
- Planning to attend or currently attends a U.S., two or four-year college/university or trade school
- Have an anticipated graduation date of Fall 2024 or later
- Be of Black or African American descent
- Can demonstrate leadership and community service involvement
- Can demonstrate financial need

INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Please complete the form below.
2) Submit a response to one of the following questions in either 1) a Word document between 300 and 500 words OR 2) a video between 90 seconds and 3 minutes:

OPTION #1 - Sometimes, it's helpful to find inspiration and guidance for our lives from the words of others. What is the #1 quote that you live by and why? Tell us a story from your life that shows why this quote is so important to you.

OPTION #2 - Inquire Higher is the home of The Black Student Success Podcast that provides insight and guidance from dozens of relatable, Black professionals. Which interview have been the most impactful to your personal journey and why?

OPTION #3 - Goals and accomplishments are milestones that everyone strives to reach, but the learning that happens along the way is just as important. What do you hope to learn in 2024? A specific skill, how to run a business, something about yourself or the world around you, anything in on the table! Tell us your learning goal and explain its significance.

3) Upload the following documents at the bottom of the form:

- Essay response
- Unofficial high school transcript(s)
- FAFSA confirmation with your EFC OR complete the DACA Student Information Form (see below)

4) Please have two letters of recommendations submitted to this Recommendation Submission Form directly from your recommenders.

Deadline to submit ALL application materials is May 31st, 2024 by 11:59pm PST. Winners will be selected by June 30th 2024, and scholarship funds will be sent directly to the winners' schools by mid-August 2024.
