Intel Corporation has established a scholarship program to assist women who plan to enroll in a 2-year associate degree or one-year semiconductor certificate program in the state of Ohio. Learn more about Intel in Ohio and careers in Semiconductor Manufacturing here.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Applicants to the Intel Scholarship for Women in Technology must: Be a high school senior or graduate or currently enrolled undergraduate Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year Community/Technical College offering two-year degrees or certificates or University offering two-year degrees in the state of Ohio for the entire upcoming 2024-2025 academic year Self-identify as female Be a United States (U.S.) citizen and/or be eligible to legally work in the U.S. Be full-time students pursuing a relevant Associate degree or a 1-year Certificate in the semiconductor manufacturing industry during the 2024-2025 academic year. Eligible programs include but are not limited to: One-year Semiconductor Certificate Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology AAS Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology AAS Engineering Technology AAS Mechatronics/Robotics/Automation Engineering Technology AAS Mechanical Engineering Technology AAS Microelectronics Associate degree Computer Engineering Technology AAS (excludes Software centric majors) Chemistry or Agricultural Sciences Associate degree Equipment maintenance related Associate degree Or other relevant STEM degrees excluding medical/veterinarian/software fields Awards If selected as a recipient, the student will qualify for a $5,000 award. Up to 25 awards will be granted. Awards are for qualified education-related expenses (e.g., tuition, fees, books, and required expenses) and other critical required expenses, such as transportation and childcare, incurred in the 2024-2025 school year. Approved usage of funds may vary by educational institution. Associate degree awards are renewable one year, or until a degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale), and full-time enrollment in an eligible program at an accredited two-year Community/Technical College in the state of Ohio. A one-year semiconductor certificate award is one-time only. Awards are for undergraduate study only at an accredited higher education institution in the state of Ohio or a University offering two-year degrees in the state of Ohio. Applicants and Award recipients must allow to share their contact information with Intel. Scholarship America will provide Intel with the student name, the email address, and the school where students are enrolled. Award recipients must: agree to share their contact information with Intel, and agree to have Intel contact them about relevant news, tech talks, available internships, or job opportunities, etc. Selection of Recipients Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of: Work experience A statement of educational and career goals and objectives aligned to the semiconductor industry Unusual personal or family circumstances Academic record Financial need will not be considered. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Intel Corporation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. Notification All applicants will be notified in April. Payment of Scholarships Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Intel Corporation. Payment is made in early August. | |
