If you are a N.C. A&T SU student living in New Jersey who is attending A&T in the Fall 2024, this scholarship opportunity is for you! You can apply for a $1,000 scholarship.

Our Chapter annually awards a total of four (4) $1000 scholarships to one (1) incoming Freshman, one (1) rising Sophomore; one (1) rising Junior and one (1) rising Senior.

THE PROGRAM

1. The New Jersey Alumni Chapter (NJAC) has established a scholarship program to assist undergraduate students at North Carolina A&T State University (NCA&TSU), hailing from the State of New Jersey.

2. This scholarship program is administered by the NJAC of North Carolina A&T State University. Awards are granted without regard to race, creed, color, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin.

3. Recipients will receive such an award upon a demonstration of outstanding achievements in many areas of their lives, including school and community involvement, as well as academic achievement. The scholarship shall be formally entitled the “NEW JERSEY ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP”, hereinafter referred to as the “NJAC Scholarship” (formerly known as the NEAT Scholarship).

4. It is the intent of the NJAC to award four (4) scholarships each academic year of North Carolina A&T State University. Furthermore, the NJAC Scholarship is intended to be awarded to an incoming freshman, a rising Sophomore, rising Junior, and rising Senior.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Applicants to the NJAC Scholarship Program must be:

A. A High School Senior and/or incoming Freshman, current NCA&TSU student, or College Transfer Student that will graduate or has graduated from the State of New Jersey’s Public and/or accredited Private schools.

B. An Applicant /Recipient registered at NCA&TSU as a full time** student.
** Full time student is defined as full time enrollment, as solely determined by North Carolina A&T State University, for the entire upcoming academic year.

C. An applicant currently having a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (weighted) on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

D. An applicant (High School Senior and/or incoming Freshman only) that has a score of 1000 or higher on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or have a 21 or higher on the American College Testing (ACT).

E. An Applicant / Recipient who is not the recipient of a full academic scholarship, provided by any entity or source, or an athletic scholarship to attend North Carolina A&T State University.

2. The applicant is required to submit three (3) “Letters of Recommendation” to NJAC, governed by the following: A. For Incoming Freshman: One Letter of Recommendation must be from an official of the student’s high school.

B. For Current NCA&TSU Students: One Letter of Recommendation must be from an official of NCA&TSU, and preferably submitted from a professor or instructor in the school or college within which the student is pursuing his or her degree, with personal knowledge of the academics or character of the Applicant.

C. For Transfer Students: One Letter of Recommendation must be submitted from an official of the college or university the Transfer Student most recently attended. Letters of Recommendation from employers, community leaders, officers of organizations, church leaders, etc. are acceptable.

D. Letters of Recommendation from immediate family members or relatives will not be acceptable forms of recommendations.

AWARDS

Recipients of the NJAC Scholarship will each be awarded $1,000.00, based upon the availability of funds. On occasion, NJAC may elect to either increase or decrease the amount of the award as shall be determined in the sole judgment of NJAC.
