Empowering the next generation of visionaries in architecture and engineering.
The Betty and Mort Marshall Memorial Scholarship was created to celebrate academic achievement and build pathways of opportunity for students pursuing degrees in architecture and engineering at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Through the generosity of Betty and Mort Marshall and a partnership with the National Institute of Building Sciences, this scholarship helps shape the future of the built environment. A $5000 scholarship will be awarded to one architecture and one engineering student. Applications due no later than March 31, 2026. Eligibility: * Be enrolled in an accredited architecture or engineering program at an HBCU. * Have completed at least two years of academic program by spring 2026. * Have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Scholarship recipients will receive $5,000 for fall 2026 tuition and will be sponsored to attend and be recognized at the National Institute of Building Sciences Building Innovation Conference, taking place May 19-20, 2026 at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner in McLean, Virginia.
