I LOVE YOU DAD Posted on 10-03-2004
what's_on_my_mind

I love my dad very much...however I can never tell him out-loud "I LOVE YOU DAD" for some reason. It feels adnormal to tell him "I LOVE HIM". With my mom it is very easy. But with my dad, I be scared; I feel like I be commiting a sin if I say that. however, we both know we love each other...I'm his seed and he is my father... Do any of you all experience a situation like this being a male? Can you honestly tell your dad, "I love you dad" without feeling werid

I feel u dude, but I would tell u to go ahead and take that first plunge and tell him because u never know u when our time is. Please take my advice. I lost my dad Feb. 5, 2003, and I am know a freshman and I wish that I could tell my dad verbally that I love him. It really hurts. Truthfully it does u just don't know how heart broken u can get when u have something and then next its gone. I prove my love to him by doing good in school and always thanking him for everything that he has done for me. Tell him, tell him for the ones who can't!

Me and my pops just recently started to express affection towards each other since I left the nest. Before, it seemed like he took it all for granted, but now, anytime we speak he always tells me he loves me, and I do the same. At first it felt wierd, but after a while it becomes natural

well I'm not a male but yea I can't relate...me and my father disagree so much that when I am not mad at him, it makes it difficult to say "I love you" but now that I am away, I miss him and I tell him more than I used to that I love him...

Ur a girl. Anywho, for males it is hard to say that. I haven't said that (notice how I am avoiding the words) since I was like 7 maybe 10...He tries to say it since I been in school but I hurry up and get off the phone....I hate sentimental father-son moments...eww... My Granny on the other hand...I can say it all day...my mom...I only say it cuz she say it

My father died when I was 2 months old, so I never had that experience. I can honestly say that I love my grandfather though. He is a wonderful person and I don't know what I would do without him!!
