if it's ya friend or someone u don't actually know/haven't formally met just yet...then, i think the term "crush" is ok....
& i guess those r pretty much the only circumstances u'd use the term, so...yeah...i think it'z fine....
once it becomes lil' more, u can say ya feelin' the person....

i think mostly a crush is someone u feel from far away...u don't know 'em...there was a thing or 2 that caught ya attention about them initially...the physical being tha case tha majority of tha time....& ya really don't know too much about 'em...maybe a LIL' about their personality, but not really...

I even go listen 2 it sometimes. But the reason i have no steped 2 her is everytime i see her she is with a wolfpac of females. And I'm not one 2 run up on a crowd and start 2 talk 2 one. Than 2 top that off she is an Aka and you know them letters add a lil fear. Not 2 say im scared but what would u call it? But I'm gonna handle that. I just have them days where i can go talk 2 all kinds of women. Than i have them days wear fear sink in...But it's getting close 2 the winter gotta find the warm Woman 2 keep me warm this winter

I think you only have crushes on people you know you can't/won't get with, so like Jameya said, you just observe them from afar. For example, I have a crush on Anthony Hamilton..lol, but for some ODD reason, I don't think anything is gonna come of it.. :lol: . Oh yeah, I also have a little wittle itsy bitsy crush on one of my coworkers just cuz I like his overall outlook and attitude about life and his relationship with his momma but I'd never pursue it.
