I was wondering if it was hard to get in howard university b/c that is my 1st choice for college. The thing is I'm not the most perfect student. So far I've stayed at a 2.5 g.p.a in high school and I was never involved in that many extracurricular activities. Plus my grades are really bad and I still haven't taken the ACT (not taking SAT). I can apply myself hard it's just my procrastination and laziness.
So what do ya'll think and was it hard for y'all?
well first u need to ask urself if u are prepared to work SHOULD the real HU accept u..............
thna, we wait for shoya, kenya, or branded to answer.............
Yeah I'm prepared to work and I also know HU's reputation and level of education. I definitley need to learn some leadership skills so why not go to the school that does that the best. I need a challenge and a fresh start b/c truthfully my high school experience wasn't that cool. So yeah I'm ready.

 so are you saying that just b/c I wasn't involved in any activities I probaly won't be accepted. that is dumb. Although I was in debate for awhile and I am a peer mediator (2nd year) so do you think that would count. For some reason I just think Howard is full of people who were on the student council, who were in deca and debate for 4 yrs and made a 3.5 and above. You know the type I'm talkin bout. That is just not me. I'm more laid back.

...I was just going by what counselors have told me...you'll be better off getting an answer from a Howard student...
...I'm a REAL laid back student also but this year (Junior)...I REALLY stepped my game up...I went from a 3.2 to a 3.8 and I'm in AP courses, Advanced Symphonic Band, marching band, and hopefully I do really well on the SAT on Dec. 4th...plus I'll be doing the Close-Up program in D.C. in January...
and if for SOME reason I dont get an academic scholarship I could always audition for a band scholarship...
dont worry...you'll get in
howard is full of high achievers, but high achievers in their own seperate way........meaning in music, dance, whatever....it doesnt have to be all about academics or how many activities you do.........its not about being involved in stuff, its about "SETTING YOURSELF APART FROM OTHERS"...AKA being unique....i mean you are kinda late...and YOU NEED TO TAKE THOSE TESTS ASAP, no matter how lazy you get....i dont wanna get all motherly....buttttt.....weeeellpp
"GURL , GET YOUR LAZY BEHIND up GET YO ACT TOGETHER AND DO SOMETHING...community service, SOMETHING!, TAKE THOSE DAMN SATS, AND ACTS...AND IF YOU AINT SENT YOUR APP YET, LAWD HAVE MERCY. .......YOU CANNOT BE LAZY ABOUT YOUR FUTURE dear...you know how many people {like me] who ALMOST DIDNT GET INTO COLLEGE AND YOU WANNA TRIP and be "lazy"....comeon college determines who you are for the rest of your life!!!!!!!...AGAIN I DONT WANNA BE YOUR MOM, BUT "MAN UP!"...AND YOU ARE TAKING THE SATS, no ifs and or buts about that one :? :? ..CAUSE GURL YOU COULD GET FUTURE MONEY IN THE FUTURE IF YOU HAVE A GOOD GPA IN COLLEGE, BUT YOU MAY NEED YOUR SAT SCORES FOR future COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS, INTERNSHIPS ,AWARDS ETC....stop it gurl, just WOOOOSSSAAAHHHH.....sorry nowwwwww...
so with that said, i think you could get in, i dont think its hard to get in, just hard to get money...but thats another story...i mean you said you didnt do 'that many activities"...the thing is not HOW many, but how committed you are too each one...i mean i was in band for 4 years and that set me apart and showed my dedication and that was my main activity, i really didnt do much else except a few activities here and there...SO YOURE like me in that department....i mean just use the activities you have, and showcase them in a way that will make the people reading it to take notice...got it??...so yeah dont worry about the number of activities...JUST TAKE THOSE TESTS and try to stay focused
