Hey I can relate to you some....campus life does get a little better during the fall because they tend to have more parties. But a lot of times you have to create your own fun. Of course coming from up North or from a big city it's going to be boring. I don't know from personal expericence but because my best friend happened to be from New York. I know it **** that you can't have a car your freshmen or sophmore year, but u can always work around that one. Try to befriend upper classmen so that you can get a ride to Norfolk, because the mall downtown is nice....there is three levels. Plus there is Va beach, Bush Garden's, and Kings Dominion which isn't too far....it's all about connections and finding means of transportation. During the regular school year especially in the fall there are football games and stuff. For some people after a while it kind of grows on you and then for some other people it just isn't for them.
The cafe food...*laughs* There isn't anything positive I can say about that..I know I avoided the cafe a many of days...
don't knock it yet... every college isn't as live during the summer... at least give it to the fall, and then do what you have to do to suit you...
Ummmm.....
Maybe the reason it is boring is because right now, you are sitting in your dorm room reading this. :?
Everyone I have been talking to says it's been on the quiet side, but nothing they can't handle. If you HATE it that much, pack up and go to another school. You knew Hampton was in the middle of nowhere, and you knew you weren't going to have a car, so why are you complaining? I'm coming from Houston, which is huge, but I know what to expect. You're supposed to make friends, and then you are supposed to MAKE FUN. If you're idea of a good college is somewhere for you to party, Hampton U. was the wrong choice. Re-evaluate... Most kids at Hampton are not there to party, which is my main reason for going. My advice to you is transfer or suck it up.
Oh, and I have no comment on the cafeteria food. You can rant all you want about that.
OMG! thats exactly how I feel about Morgan. Im a Pre-College student at Morgan State and I wish I would have stayed my **** in New York. Its soooo boring. Im not even gonna list all the things thats wrong here. Everybody says that in the fall theres more parties and stuff to do but its not about the parties. I dont know what I was thinking coming here paying all this money for thisSh*t. Its just so corny...Im getting my transfer papers ready right now!
