I am so glad you asked this question Blaze...I have been wondering this ever since my ex boyfriend cheated on me!! It was about a year ago and we are still friends, but I still can't understand to this day what possessed him to do that...I can't wait to read the input from the fellas!
Well there are always exceptions to the rules, nothing is absolute. Sometimes those "animal instincts" may overrule the man's brain and feelings that he may have for the woman he's with now, and he may slip. but I believe the majority of mature men are able to control these basic feelings they may feel form time to time.
It's continually dumbfounded me as to why guys cheat on their fine, commited women. the only reason I can think of is, he wasn't getting it on the regular, or maybe not as much as he wanted. If a **** is thirsty, ya'll know that man ain't thinking right. I also think that maturity comes into play as well. A guy has got to have the ability to think about how his actions could effect the future of his relationshipw with this great girl he's got at home.
Why do people cheat?
Because they think they can get away with it. That is all.
This is why some people cheat on their partner even though they've got a great relationship, so it's not always that something is lacking at home although sometimes that's the case. It's not always necessarily about maturity or discipline because even mature people are tempted. In fact, those are the people that are most likely to rationalize "why it's OK to cheat".
If someone believes that they can do what they want with no repercussions, they will do it. Obviously, nobody would cheat if they expected to get caught.
So, I guess it could all go back to maturity, if that's how you define realizing that some things simply aren't worth the risk. Holla!
