Crime Rates... Posted on 01-29-2005
GoLdNsTrAwBeRrY

Hey!! This weekend I went to visit CAU and it was really nice =) But...... The school is by the projects (no offense to anyone). I was talking to someone and they said like the crime rate was really high. I guess people get robbed when walking down the street and stuff. Now since I know that, Im a little scared about going there because I dont want to get shot up, you know. So please if you have any info about CAU crime rates, let me no PLEASE PLEASE!! Thanks a Bunch !!!

just delete the other ones Oh, and dont be scared about stuff like that, i am from the burbs and i've gotten kinda soft but i'm not scared of that. I think they probally got security or lights like Temple U has. Temple's in the middle of the ghetto and that doesnt stop people BLACK or WHITE from going so................just remember to duck thats all,.... it'll be fun

The number one rule when going off campus: go in groups. I never go off campus without at least one other person with me. I've only been off campus by myself a few times, and I was by myself because I had no other choice. As long as someone else is with you, you shouldn't have major problems. Oh yeah...there are AUC shuttles, too, but sometimes they can be inconvenient, though.

maybe it's cuz i come from the hood so i managed to aquire street smarts but use common sense. you can get robbed in the suburbs too....the people at University Homes are normal people just like you and I. Imagine if your income level caused you to live in a housing district......would that automatically mean that you would rob/fight/shot somebody?? no. Y would you be walking by yourself? Y would ya friends even let you walk by yourself? With a lil common sense you'll be just fine. Don't walk by yourself, If you must walk by yourself don't do it in the dark, Don't look like you are all nervous and stuff. Just walk and you will be just fine.

no offense, but if you go to any university there is a major chance youll be ****/robbed/etc, because people pray on naive college students anyways who think just because a campus looks pretty nothing is gonna happen.....even if they go to freaking harvard youll still have to deal with crimes outside the school, within the school, even by your own peers going as students at your school, especially as a female.....just wanted to put my two cents in, but yeah use common sense ON ANY COLLEGE CAMPUS, cause youre not safe anywhere
