Norfolk state was founded in 1935 as the norvfolk division of virginia state university but origionally under virginia union. Norfolk state changed its name several times once being Norfolk state college. Finally it reached University status in 1979. NSU founded by Sam Scott as in Scott hall and the first president Lyman B. Brooks, as in Lyman Brooks library. The university is not in its original spot from when it was founded in 1935. Shows haw much you know!!!
HIU was founded in 1868 by Samuel Armstrong as Hampton Institute of higher learning!! LOL no as Hampton Institute.Hampton has its own way of generating electricity thats why when you walk on campus you see no power lines and you see steam comming from the ground!! HIU also has 2 cemetaries on campus. Hampton Institute now Hampton University soon reached university status but is now reffered to as HIU to distingush them from Howard university "the 1st HU".
