I'm trying to transfer to a school in GA and found out I could get most money from an HBC.. and I can also get instate tuition to VA and MD so thats where my choices of schools are. Now i'm from west virginia originally.. and I grew up around mostly white cats... it wasn't under my control, that's just where my parents had me grow up, dont ask me why. I'm not no Carlton type muhfukka from Fresh Prince or nothing but i'm definitely not into being ghetto and hard. I wanted to hear from people who go to HBC's if they thought going to an HBC would even be a good idea... like will there be other brothas there like me that's not into bein hard and talkin like "yo mami was good boo" "**** this **** that". The black parties ive been to was cool... but fights always broke out and cats was gettin **** and im not really feelin that. So basically my question is what school would I be able to find more brothas like me.. I think i'd describe my personality like Taye Diggs (not sayin I look like him at all).. what school would I fit in at morehouse? hampton? howard? How is it at your school.... basically I don't wanna end up getting there and not findin anybody to chill with. Let me know yall thoughts... show me luv.
U would actually fit in at any HBCU...trust me, alot of the ppl who go to HBCUs grew up in predominately white neighborhoods. I used to go to Hampton, you would DEFINITELY fit right in there. I can't speak for other schools, but Hampton was full of people who grew up in mostly white neighborhoods. In fact, the majority of my friends there went to schools where they were one of a few blacks, so the fact that I went to a diverse high school made me tha odd one lol. But yeah u would definitely fit in at Howard or Hampton...
Sounds like you'd fit right in at Morehouse but depending on ya major you might juss wanna hit up Clark. The AUC is a wonderful place to attend school because of the resources at all of the schools. We don't to much have parties...we go to the clubs (afterall, they provide shuttles)
