Since half of the stuff in the "ghetto" thread sounds like some suburb kids tryin to sound cool, here's checklist guide for you all. You are NOT ghetto/from the ghetto if....
...You've NEVER heard your neighborhoods name on the news in a negative way.
You've never seen a roach in your house
You've NEVER EVER EVER had cars parked in the grass for weeks at a time
You've never watched a drug bust while sitting on your own front porch.
You've never heard gunshots at nite
You've never seen the cops in your neighborhood after dark...
These are just a few of the minimal requirements. If haven't experienced at least 4 of the 6 listings....you are NOT from the ghetto.
You've NEVER EVER EVER had cars parked in the grass for weeks at a time
Now this just sounds like some country Sh*t.
Heres my list...
You have never had to sleep on a"pallet" or make one for a guest....
you have never drank out of a jar
you have never taken public transportation and look down on it...
Oh I forgot....we have 'homes' in the south. Not a bunch of buildings ****-stacked together with tenants squeezed in like sardines.
10lbs of ****in a 5lb. bag. We got room to breath down here, so if Uncle Ray's '75 Buick Electra 225 (duece-and-a-quarter) transmission blows, he can sit it on the side of the house if he damn well pleases.

sounds just like south orange, nj........i love my suburbian town!!!!!
*You've seen guys in the neighborhood walking around in with blazers and jeans just for hell of it.
*You got a Lexus or 'Lac with factory rims
*You keep keys under your doormat or in the plants.
*When you plant flowers they're still there for a week.
*People are joggin at the crack of dawn.
*No Mexicans in your neighborhood.
Been to the airport, but that's it.
I don't know about the ghetto's in the A. My ghetto has a million Mexicans. Suburbs has about two or three.
It's the exact opposite here. Ghetto here is almost all black. Latinos live about 5-10 miles from town (Chamblee, Doraville, Forest Park). Where I'm from (Stone Mountain, especially around W. Mountain St. and N. Hairston Rd.), the Latino population is growing fast.

Well say about 10 years ago...Ghetto's here in Dallas were 98% Black but then we started moving up and moved to outskirts and to the suburbs and then all of Mexico decided to come to Dallas. Honestly, me and my mom are the only ones in my family still in the hood but she doing a lot better than most of them.
You not ghetto if....
you never seen rip messages and gang symbols carved into sidewalks
you dont live anywhere close to the jets (projects)
you never sleep on the floor or on a mattress by itself
you never had to pick up the trash from around yo house
you never had random things like plants or basketballs stole from outside of your house
you never had to heat the house up with the oven
you never saw the state boys in your town hemmin people up
you never saw a slack off mayor in office for almost 10 years
you can count the amount of times you seen a white person (in your town) on both hands or less
you never wore a hand me down
you never had to cut a pair of pants and wear them like shorts
you dont have any bars on your windows, a alarm system, or at least a sign in your yard that says ADT even tho you dont gotta alarm system
you never took out a old bed or bookcase or somethin to the corner and saw somebody that wasnt a garbage man take it...
you never played basketball with a plastic crate
you never been to a house/candy store
Why do city people think theres no such thing as a ghetto suburb?
