Think about this before you answer....Shaq is 33, and wanted more money than Kobe. Kobe is 26 and would've saved you money on the salary cap. You also would get more years out of Kobe, but a player like Shaq doesn't come around everyday.
If the decision was yours to make, would you have taken Kobe over Shaq?
I would've kept Shaq for the simple fact that I know Kobe wouldn't be as big of an offensive AND defensive threat like Shaq.
its simple, you keep shaq simply because you can find another gaurd, maybe not of kobe's stature, but there are tons of players out there that you could team with shaq. If you keep Kobe you aint gonna come across another big man half as good as shaq that a team would willingly give up, simply because big men are hard to come by.
Kobe just fukked his whole career up wit how he handled the **** situation. If yall remember MJ freaked some random white girl back in like '92, but he handled it wit honesty and class. So no one even remembered it. He's still the best ever and still has/had all those McD's commercials and is looked at as a role model. Kobe should have just admitted the infidelity, and denied the **** and let everything run it's course wit class. Instead he wants to start trying to put heat on other folks for no reason like when he said out the blue one day, "Why yall all on me? I mean yeah, i cheated on my wife. But Shaq's out there giving chicks a million dollars to do a bunch of stuff wit each other." And then he came out and accused the one cat who had his back throughout this whole thing, Karl Malone, of hitting on his wife. And then gets him kicked off the team. Kobe ain't been the same since. He lost damn near ALL his promos, and will never really be trusted by any sensible teammate again.
And from that standpoint, I'd pick Shaq hands-down. But before all this b.s., i would have picked Kobe cuz his future was mos def shining BRIGHT.

Plain and simple......he's TOO COCKY....I won't be suprised if he ends up in a worst situation than t-mac when he was on the magic....personally I would trade him off....he got so much skills but his immaturity, cockiness, and self fishness is so unappealing. And Lebron James is younger than him, humble as ever, and going into his third year and is better than kobe....whats really up?
shaq jus because i know you can put him on an average team and basically you are a contender for a championship...i mean look at miami right now...damon jones??he used to warm the bench for the pistons and now shaq is making him look better than he is...eddie jones and haslem too...they are instant contenders for a championship although they will get swept by the pistons in the ECF :-D ...now lets look at the lakers...since the pistons dismantled them, theyve jus looked awful...as you can see, kobe does not make players around him better...theyre now out of the playoffs and almost in a rebuilding phase...i jus love what my team did to them....just lovely :-D
lebron's not better yet come on now kobe still is the best guard when he has a supporting cast around him but im both a lebron and kobe fan
I dunno... Kobe's not as good as he used to be.
At one time i swear he was the most explosive offensive force i'd ever seen in my WHOLE life, including Jordan. He's fallen off since this white girl stuff tho.
Y'all remember when Kobe scored 56 points in 3 quarters? He didn't play the last 4 minutes of the 3rd quarter and didn't play 1 single second of the 4th. And this was against the Grizzlies when they were beasting cats. Kobe was str8 SICK.

Thats because there wasn't the first offensive threat....Shaq was the first offensive threat, and since he was always double teamed, Kobe was always able to free himself thru screens.
