you got more heart than I do cause I could never go into the military girl. Its like they try so hard to get me. They be like calling my house, came up to the school for me. Dude was like dang u got a good body. He either really wants me in the army or he wants to hit! lol cause he tryin a bit to hard! lol
I don't know anything about this, but I know they always hassling people, and getting on my last damn nerves. I get mail from them at least twice a month. They ask you do you wanna join, you say "NO" then they choose to go into a 30 min lecture on "why joining the army is the right choice for you." I'm thinking..how are you gonna tell me what's right for me..but anyway enough of my ranting.. Girl I just wanna give you ya props, cause you are stronger than me because I honestly don't have the guts to do it. My friend did it though, and I think she was at Fort Jackson, I'm not sure. One of my homeboys finished his training, and next thing I know, they was sending him to Iraq. I was scared for him, but he's home safely now.

My cousin is in the National Guard..I would say go to Ft. Jackson..
I've never done basic, I run as far away as I can from anything dealing with the military. lol
I'm a Military Brat. Army and AirForce Brat to be exact. I would say if you are going to join the Army do basic @ Ft. Jacskon unless u can get Texas.
Now although the AirForce know as the whimps. They get some nice perks. And they are my laid back and relaxed. I am considering going in but only after college.
But the Navy and its crew be trippin out fa real. When I took the ASVAB in HS I got a 110 my 1st time. Since then they been calling asking me to join. Plus since my score is good I would qualify for and Officer.
If u wanna know bout the perks especially if u get stationed overseas let me know. I have lived overseas 4ever its my home away from home.

You are brave for joining the national guard. My girl is in Venezuela right now "building a hospital". They told her they wouldn't deploy her, and she wouldn't do anything until after she graduated. WRONG. And she's only in Army ROTC. I have a few other friends who are nursing majors, and in Army ROTC, and I hope they aren't sent anywhere.
If you don't want to do much you should join the Air Force!

Ft L-woods
Lost in the woods, no where to run no where to hide but in some damned trees.
i went to the army(medical reasons i left) but i chose FT Jackson and it was cool, and as far as your weekend leave, you wont get that until you get into AIT. your recruiter wont tell you this, so i will..
when you get to FT.J you have to do a intial PT test, like 3 days after you get there, you have to run a mile in under 9 mins, 3 push ups and 7 sit ups. you are goin to get sick of eating cause it seems like everytime you turn around your goin to the DFAC(dinning facilities) fire gaurd dutys in reception(place you go before you actually get to basic) is like a hour or something like that, but when you get to basic all shifts are 2hrs long except gate gaurd. you got through 3phases at FT J(unless theyve changed it, i went in in 02) red phase is the hardest cause they try to make you quit, and most who do stop with those first few weeks. white phase you get a little bit of freedom, but not alot, blue phase, yall basically run what yall do and the drill sgts are more chilled. you will do a bunch of Sh*t you dont want to, but i can honestly say i had more fun in basic than i have had my first year of school, i know it sounds wierd but when you get in and done you might see what i mean... but have fun and let me know what you decide

Do you mean that ya friend was in the National Guard and in Army ROTC. If yes then the United States Army can tell you that they won't deploy you but since she's in the guard they can call her up. Now if she was just in ROTC they could not call her up unless there is a desperate need for forces like they did to alot of ppl. when the started the Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom wars. They called up ppl. from the graduating classes @ the Military Colleges like West Point, Air Force Academy and the Naval Academy.
