Hi, I'm new to the board and I need some advice. I thinking about going to a HBCU in Georgia and live on campus. But, I feel like i'm too old (I'm 22) to start my education a campus. Can anybody give me some advice to help me feel comfortable about my college choices?

Well if your worried a bout your age. I dont think u need to (first of all its only a 4 year difference....and lets be real...who DIDNT wanna hang wit the older folk. But yeah, try to relate, try being outgoing, and dont try to be too mature that it turns people off ("the mom") I mean all i can say is just be open. oh, and dont be friends wit the preppy girls.....they vicious.

You need not be worried about your age. There are people that are your age that stay in dorms. Hell there is a guy that I know has to be at least 40 that stayed in the dorms at my school. Come to think about it he was an RA too. People were still cool with him. Just be yourself, because you are there for the education not to please your classmates.

long as you get a degree, that's all that matters... don't worry that you're 22 and on campus.... you could always be that connect... j/k

My mom went back to college for another degree and she's 40 something years old, granted she looks a lot younger than what she is, but i mean if she could do it at 40, you damn sure can do it at 22. Besides age shouldn't matter as long as your getting that degree

Do what makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Weigh out each decision and go for it. Go ahead and get your degree and anyway, I'm sure you'll have no problems being only 22.

I had an older person on my business team, he was mad coo too. Unless you look hella old, people probably won't notice that you're older than them. I've seen lots of older students (as in middle aged) on campus anyway.
