I really want to be a pediatrician and I have heard, through the grape vine, that Xavier is an excellent college to prepare me for medical school. If you have advice PLEASE drop me a line. Thanx...
Thank you soooo much. I'm still kind of uncertain of where I want to go... I really want to go to Spelman, but if Xavier is better for upcoming physicians then I need to go there.
hmmm how well is xavier connected with making black students doctors?
let's just say every state i've gone to, no matter who i've spoken with, when i told them i went to Xavier, automatically they asked " So, you're biology pre-med ?"
Actually, Xavier is the best school for pre-medical studies/biology...BUT if you want to come to Spelman, and that's what you've always wanted to do, then you should...because biology pre-med is one of the most popular programs here AND one of the best. Spelman ranked #2 in it's admission rates for African-American women to medical schools...after Xavier...yep, that includes white schools (and Howard). The pre-med/health careers support here is huge. They WILL get you into a GOOD medical school, and your classes will be rigorous.
So don't sleep on Spelman for pre-med...
Biology Pre med is also the most popular major at Xavier as well, most of the freshman you meet will be a biology premed major. They make sure that you are ready for med school when the time comes, that you have all your stuff straight. And thats why I am going right back next semester ... I hope.
