"One source told ESPN.com that the New York Knicks had made Minnesota an offer that included the expiring contracts of Penny Hardaway ($15.7 million) and Antonio Davis ($13.9 million). But for such a trade to work under salary cap rules, the Knicks would also have to take back Sczcerbiak. One source close to several NBA players insisted that the viability of the Knicks' offer should not be dismissed, going so far as to say Garnett was making a private push through back channels to be dealt to New York and reunite with former teammate Stephon Marbury. "I'd bet money he'll be wearing a Knicks uniform by the end of February," the source said." ESPN.com
"The belief around the NBA is Garnett doesn't want to provoke one of those Shaquille O'Neal/Alonzo Mourning/Charles Barkley-type embarrassing public episodes, so he won't demand a trade. But he's hoping the Timberwolves will come to him and say they're looking to rebuild and ask where can they trade him to make him happy after all he's done for the franchise." Chicago Tribune
"Garnett isn't going to want to come to a developing Bulls team--even if he can save airfare attending Farragut High reunions. I've suggested a Garnett-Dirk Nowitzki deal, but perhaps a better one would be with Indiana for Jermaine O'Neal and Jamaal Tinsley. The Pacers seem to miss Reggie Miller's quiet leadership. As Austin Croshere said last week after a loss to the Hornets: "This team needs to step up and find some leadership. It's not coaching, it's effort and taking responsibility for what's happening on the court." Chicago Tribune
im hearin mad trade rumors about KG...i think if he was to move to NY that would instantly put them over the top similar to what sheed did for the pistons in 04...but i read the espn article and theres also a rumor about a sheed darko plus picks to minny for KG..seems unlikely but i would think kg would ask for a trade by the feb deadline...theres no chance of him winning in minn now...that time has passed and when the time was there, the lakers were in his way...
If he goes to the Knicks Marbury will be traded too because Larry Brown isn't exactly fond of him right now. I think he will be traded by the deadline though.
I could see him going somewhere like Portland for Zach Randolph, Darius Miles, and maybe some picks. Or maybe the Hornets for Desmond Mason and some others. But he'll most likely go to a team that will allow minnesota to get some picks and someone who can come in and at least half way fill KG's role.
KG ain't going nowhere. That's just a bunch of mess going around the league to get KG to put up some numbers. As much as KG has done for the Wolves, I seriously doubt it, another trade might be done in order to get KG some help, but I seriously doubt it...
