I know it's a little early, but is there anyone who will be attending Howard this Fall or... at least been accepted and considering it? I just sent that NONREFUNDABLE $300 enrollment fee and my housing application so I'm going there for sure.

Man, I'm the same situation. I live in Miami and I don't know ANYBODY in D.C....not to mention I haven't even been outside of Florida. I'm a little scared, but I think the new ppl and atmosphere will be a great experience. It better be... with all these sacrifices I'm making. lol.

It isn't that bad guys. I'm I came alllllllllllll the way across the country (Los Angeles/Inglewood, CA to be exact) with no friends and no fam on the east coast. Granted, it does take a minute to adjust, but once you start to find your niche, it isn't hard to get comfortable. I ended up getting involved, making bonds, and found a family away from home. Nowadayz, I feel more at home in DC than when I go back to LA. Pray about it. If Howard is where you are supposed to be, then God will make provisions on your behalf

I was in the same situation. When I got to Howard I only knew 3 people--they were all older than I was and had different majors so I saw them on campus every once in a while. Get active, get involved and you should be fine. Most importantly, go to Pre-Orientation because you will meet the bulk of the other freshmen there. And if you stay in the Quad or the Annex, you wont have any problems making friends.

Just ask anything you want to know and we'll fill you in. I'm from Atlanta so I had to adjust also...
