House Bill Would Give Black Colleges an Additional $125-Million The U.S. House of Representatives approved an amendment on Wednesday that would provide an additional $125-million for historically black colleges and graduate schools in the coming fiscal year. The amendment, which was offered during floor debate on the Education Department spending bill for the 2008 fiscal year, would provide $100-million more for historically black colleges and $25-million more for historically black graduate institutions - increases of 40 percent. To pay for the increase, the amendment would cut $125-million from a $394-million Education Department account used to reorganize the staff and rent conference rooms and cars.

Though the government is providing additional funds for the HBCU's, such as an increase on Pell Grants and Subsidized Loans. Many of the HBCU's are raising the tutitions to gobble up that increase so students have no real relief. I think what the government is doing for post secondary education is great but the colleges and universities that are raising their tutitions to profit should be BOYCOTTED.

Where's the list of schools that are doing this? I'd like to take a look at it.
