I Must get in to HU...f

Hey, i just submitted my application to HU a few days ago for fall of 08. I'm a transfer student with a 3.4 GPA 50 credit hours. I feel pretty confident that i will receive an acceptance letter BUT i noticed people were mentioning extracurricular activities or volunteering and well i have done none of those. I did start volunteering recently but honestly i don't even remember seeing a section on the transfer application asking for volunteer experience. is this something they ask only from freshmens or am i at risk for not being accepted because of my lack of volunteering and participating in school activities?

you and i are in the same boat it seems. i've got a 3.2 and I can't calculate the number of credit horus because the school i am at operates on a different scale but i know i have enough to get in. however, dependin on whether or not u submitted ur app online - i did - they had this thing that was optional for u to include an activities resume. thats wherere u put your volunteer info, work experience, clubs involved in, etc. i included that with my letter of rec. so, maybe you should try to send one. but honestly speakin i think u'll do fine. lemme know how it goes for u and who knows we might see each other next year! o yeah where u transferrin from?

Gurl i feel ya i'm in the same situation! everyone is callin "HOward" my school already. I have a friend who goes to south Carolina state university and they played Howard a couple weeks back and i was all **** off cuz they lost. But if i don't get in man well i guess i'll be going to UIC in Chicago which is full of yuppies and Asians. not that I'm prejudice but i want the black experience! Gurl why r we doubting ourselves. lets claim it! God is good and rewards the worthy.

If you don't have a ton of activities / community service, don't despair... just make sure your grades are decent, and your essay is on point. Also, practice for the SAT and take it more than once if you can. Just don't stress. Enjoy your senior year of HS, and get ready for the best years of your life.

Thanks for the support...but we're not high school students though...we're transfer students from other schools.
