Hey everybody,
My name is Alana and I been reading alot about different HBCUs through a few different webites...Its about that time to start narrowin down the ones I wana apply to and visit but im not sure about how to do that. Right Now my top schools (in no particular order) are:
1. NC A&T(Im Kind of being swayed away frfom the aggies)
2. Howard
3. FAMU(Not to sure about)
4. Hampton
5. Winston Salem SU
Right now im mainly lookin into Howard and my question(s) is:
--Do they offer a good amount of scholarships or full rides
--If i am not intending on majoring in bussiness should i still go even though there may be other schools strong in my major
--What made you choose it?/ What makes it fun?

hey,what's up. im guessing ur gonna b going 2 the 12th grade! me too!lols. i'm in the same predicament as you. i cant help much on the scholarship info but just b/c your intended major isnt Business doesn't mean yo cant still go there. Howard is a good school across the board. dont let that sway ur mind.
i can also answer what makes it fun (even tho i dont go there) b/c i live not to far from it and go 2 school across the street from it. Howard is fun b/c DC is fun (in my opinion) there's lots to do and lots of places to go all around DC, Maryland and Virginia (they are all pretty close 2gether), the guys that go there are hot 2..thats what makes it fun.****! im probably no help.lol.srys
Hey alana i'm kayla if you didn't already guess from the usernamei cna't really give information on any of the schools your interested in since i'm gonna be a senior in high school this year myself but just wanted to say hello to another class of '09er - we're finally starting to come out on the forums!i'm also thinking about applying to Howard and Hampton as far as hbcu's with Howard being my first choice.and i know how you feel about the mjor reputations at Howard because they are known for their business and journalism majors and i want to major in nursing so that was a concern for me for a little but i like everything about Howard so it's still my first choice! hope some1 comes along to answer your questions..deuces!
Hey Alana..I just wanted to welcome u to the forums and everything...I really cant provide that much info because like u i graduate in 2009 ..but you and I have the same colleges on our lists..lol..I'm from North Carolina and everyone wants to got to A&T..not me..and my two sisters go to Winston Salem State University..they have a good nursing program though...Howard is where I will hopefully end up in fall of '09..but I think Howard has a good business program..because of all of the info I had gather off of this websitw..and on Howard's website..it said a lot of fortune 500 companies hire their graduates..not too sure though..but hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol iono it's just the vibe. its one of the biggest black universities. they have all the greek groups! its not to far away from home. its a good school. and iono just being a rattler is awww so exciting for me lol

LOL thats kind of exactly how i felt about NCA&T i jus could see myself there...then hampton and howard an so many other schools stolled along lol
