... I just want to say that high school is a joke and i hate :!: it is my fourth year here and for what... oh yeah that lovely diploma that's not really getting any where. I just don't think it's fair to me or any other high school student to get a high school diploma and go to a college and the person next to you got a G.E.D. (Good Enough Diploma). Don't get me wrong... i do plan to graduate from high school... but i'm just saying that it's not fair. but i know that you have to have a certain grade point average to get into those really good schools... but if you're a type that don't want to go to a nice high priced state school or just can't afford it... why should you be next to a student who didn't even work as hard as you did. i think that's insulting anyone intelligence... i don't know if its just me trippin' again... but i just had to say that. :?
And another thing... this is how someones life can be planed for a high school drop out...
go to school until you can legally drop out...
go and apply to get your G.E.D. (they have programs that will pay you for taking it)
get your "Good Enough Diploma"
Go to a crppy college...
Graduate and then get one of those nice jobs that you can sit at a desk all day...
then you can live happy... ever... after.
the same can happen to someone who works hard in Highschool and goes to a good college... how ironic... don't you think :? :?:
i didn't post this so anyone can drop out of high school and get the GED... you really wouldn't want to do that... I don't think anyone here should think that they only qualify for "Good Enough" as young black sistahs and brothahs we should stive for the best... but i just wanted you guys to see what i'm seeing... is anyone else noticing this? :|
High school was fun the first two years....but by Junior year I couldnt wait to get the hell up outta there....and by senior yeah FORGET IT. I had a serious case of senioritus.....I couldnt wait til June 19, 2003, so I could walk across that stage, get my diploma, and not have to ever think about walking the halls of high school again.
Is high school a joke? Not in my opinion. High school is where u learn basic skills that u will need to pass your classes in college. I have had to use a lot of my high school skills here in college, especially in math. Plus high school is a place where people can have a chance to gain social skills by joining clubs, playing sports, etc. Jus my opinion. Hollaz yall
It seems like people that get their GED had certain problems, maybe children or they just screwed up initially. I know people who go their's and school just isn't for them like that. They go into occupations that are good, but don't require college degrees. But h.s. students learn a lot more than students who get their GED. Not to mention the opportunity that we have to earn certain credentials that GED students don't. Just chill and enjoy the ride as much as you can. H.S. really wasn't fun like that to me, but I learned ALOT and I'm glad for the experience.
after receiving my report card a couple of days ago and seeing that my GPA was a fuggin 3.3... I'm realizing that high school is INDEED a WASTE of time...I learned absolutely NOTHING my junior year...and I really mean NOTHING
- My Gifted Lit teacher was like the longest SUBSTITUTE ever (might as well call her that)...she hasn't taught a damn thing in all of my 4 years of being in her gifted classes...she just gave tests and played spades...and then her fat **** had the audacity to give me a 73 in her class!!...I want her fired...it took her an entire semester to grade like 20 term papers
- My chemistry teacher was a ****...seriously...she's smart but she couldn't teach shat...and she was too lazy to grade our assignments...
- My AP US History teacher was cool as hell but he couldn't teach...for that to have been a college course, it was too damn easy...I'm not complaining about getting a 94 in his class but no one has passed the AP US History exam in THREE YEARS...he's obviously doing something wrong...
I only need TWO CLASSES to graduate but the county is making me take 8 classes my senior year...6 that I don't even need :x :x :x :x :x
sorry, I had to vent
