NBA Finals... the teams are set, and it's a classic rivalry w/ new blood...
the Lakers the 2nd winningest team in NBA history in championships, and winners of 3 of the last 4 championships are back in the title hunt against the Detroit Pistons, who are in the NBA Finals for the first time in 14 years...
These two teams have met before in the NBA Finals... in 88 (Lakers won in 7) and 89 (Pistons won the first of back-to-back NBA titles)
it's Shaq vs. Big Ben, Kobe vs. Rip, Malone vs. Sheed, GP vs. Chauncey... the difference b/t the Lakers and Pistons is that the Lakers have consistent shooters, while the Pistons have streaky shooters... the Lakers are an offensive team, while the Pistons are more defense-oriented...
but i'm not an analyst, and i'm out of that mode, and i'm back to being me.... not only am i going for the Pistons b/c i hate the Lakers w/ a purple and gold passion, i'm going for the Pistons b/c i know my uncle would be very happy to see that his team has gone places and he would be celebrating right now... so i'ma celebrate for him...
the lines are drawn here... choose your side...
the thing similiar about these two teams though is the fact that they know how to come from behind... both teams always have a run in the 4th quarter... so if one team is up at the end of the 3rd... don't count the other out in the 4th... whether it's the Pistons or the Lakers....
so.... with that said, and i'm being on analyst mode right now.... i'm gonna say this will be a classic battle... and i'm gonna be analytical and say the Lakers win in six b/c the East may have its strongest team in the Finals... but it still isn't enough against the West...
Lakers in 5 or 6...
Shaq is just too much. They'll throw Sheed, Okur, Cambell and Ben Wallace at him but Shaq will run this series Because Sheed is long but not big enough. Ben Wallace is strong but he's only 6'9...Okur and Cambell will try but those aren't real threats.
Rip wont get off on Kobe like he did on Reggie, he's only gonna average 15 in this series, Tayshaun is gonna have to pick up the scorin slack and we all know that he cant do it consistantly, therefore im goin with lakers...and hey yall might wanna take out your brooms for this one cuz its gonna be a sweep.

umm... sweep.... no before y'all write off the Pistons, this will be a series.... 1 down 3 to go.....
beat LA beat LA beat LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's so interesting how everyone made such a big deal out of how shaw and kobe couldn't be contained. The irony is that they wern't contained and still lost.
