i looked for this topic but couldn't find anything satisfactory. so...how many of you applied early action/early decision and got in? was it more/less difficult? would you recommend it? i know it's wise to do it if you're positive you want to attend that school but what do y'all think?
I applied early action for Tennessee State* and they sent me an acceptance letter early as well as other important info for admission. It wasn't difficult because I applied online. If u want to apply early, u have to prepare early:
 Teacher recommendations should be requested early in fairness to your teacher(s).
 Required essays should be typed in advance if the topic is broad (i.e. What can you contribute to __ University/College). HU and the real HU** had a similar topic...so I tweaked the second essay.
 All required tests should have been taken at least once(i.e. ACT, SAT, and/or SAT II)
 Basically u should be prepared with the essentials when/if u apply early. Getting a decision early can give u more time to plan for the other elements of college. You'll know where you're going and how to get there
 Also, if you haven't taken all of the required classes you can take care of that before/during the second semester of high school!
*I'll be headin' to the Mecca, however
** Howard University, of course

I applied early action for Howard University and that is where I will be in the fall! There wasn't a difference in difficulty, the application is the same you just have an earlier deadline. I recommend doing it because for myself I didn't want to waste money on several applications. I did my first choice early action and found out I was accepted a couple months after. Instead of stressing over applications like everybody else at my school, I already knew where I was going and spent the time I would've been spent on applications on searching for scholarships. Just have everything prepared like Bigd1611 mentioned.
