There seems to be a rather healthy population surge of Blacks joing the ****. I'd like to ask you all (regardless of political alignment) what you think of Blacks that claim to be Republicans.
Some of the more well known Blacks/Reps like Alan Keyes believe that the Democratic party is the true enemy of Blacks and that the political and social climate of America is prime for blacks to be accepted by white republicans (i think it's a crock of shyt, but please, express your opinions).
Common cliches used by BRs is that the Republican party is more in line wih their values on crime, family and self reliance. I personally, happen to know lots of blacks that don't like crime, enjoy taking active roles in the raising of their children, and would enjoy having there own communities to live in if it weren't for institutional racism and corporate smashing (you can't talk about self reliance in the black community when black owned business in South Central are torn down and replaced with billion dollar corporate retail chains that don't put much profit back in the community!!!).
Well, that should get the ball rolling ( the HBCU reps should be at my throat in no time), so express your thoughts...

first, just because a black man believes that Bush is doing the right thing doesn't make him an uncle tom. Yes Bush has not done anything in this admistration to aid the poor/minorities, but that fact alone doesn't make a black man an uncle Tom. There are lots of rich black folks that support Bush (Rice). But in all actuallity tell me more about what an uncle tom actually is.
according to history uncle tom was a **** that got to old to work and his master built him a small cabin and put him there in solitude away from society. So Mr228, explain yourself, or read up on your own history.

I'm a Republican myself. Quite frankly, I hate the generalization that people make of us. Expecially if you're black. Yeah, I grew up with a little bit more than everyone else and some of his policies may help me a little bit more than the majority of black folks. However I haven't chosen my party based on who the candidate is, I've based my descision on the fundamentals of the party. Yeah, in a whole lot of cases I see some real **** within the party. But how can blacks truly make any kind of difference if we don't have people in all parties? Besides, black Republicans shouldn't be what we are worried about. Al Sharpton is a Democrat. Now do you really want that applehead to be the most powerful man in the world? The only real person that we have as a society that even has any good experience in running the country is Colin Powell. Say what you will, the man could win, and we'd be better off than with most other candidates more than likely. But he's not running so it doesn't matter. We need a candidate that's genuine about their concern for the country, and not just their own advancement. Regardless of political affiliation. Right now, I think all we can do is choose the lesser of the two evils, because right now, everyone is wishywashy.
I already get the "sellout" garbage simply because I don't act "black enough" to begin with and because I never even lived around black folks until I got to A&T. I don't need it because of my political affiliation as well. :evil:

IN conclusion, lets start our own party "Seperate but Equal," put a black president in the black house :wink: . Furthermore, Census projects numbers that show in the year 2025 this country will be 50% black, and i will be running for president. :idea: Bless dat

republicans are not sellouts they just have different opinions than ****...both democrats and **** have been uncle toms...just because clarence thomas is a republican and an uncle tom doesnt mean every black republican is an uncle tom...comeone can we get some better topics than this, i mean really :?
