Hey I wonder if anyone else out there is scared as sh*tless about going to college. I admit I went out and did tons of research, talk to many diffrent people and I do not know if I made the right descion by choosing Cheyney. Sometimes I think I should of went to a PWU b/c i would get more regonition or sometimes I should have gone to a more prestigous HBCU. I don't know I am the FIRst in my immediate family that is going away to school and I am the first kid in MY GENERATION that is going away to school. I am so scared if anyone out there feels the same way I do holla back. :?

I feel ya, Diva. All those things are perfectly normal to feel when going off to college, and I think it's safe to say that many other people felt and do feel the same way. The biggest piece of advice that I can offer you is to stay prayed up, cuz you're probably gonna be taken through a lot of changes, and God is the only one who is gonna be able to guarantee your safety.

I don't know, to me I couldn't wait to go to college after graduating middle school, I thought high school was a waste of time, but i want you to believe in God, so he can help you believe in yourself, I know your family believes in you, your friends believe you can do it, I believe you can do it, and WE believe you can do it. I don't know you but I have a feeling, I sense something beyond the words in the post that reveal the kind of person you are. The forces behind you are greater and will over come the forces against you. The only person left to believe in you is yourself. Know that you can do this. Know that you can succeed. Know that you can achieve your goals and never place any doubt on yourself. Know that if you are ever in trouble, we are here for you.

Aey, i feel u. I'm goin through the exact same thing (almost & with a few more twists & turns). I really don't know what to say cuz every minute of the day I think bout my situation I am conflicted in one way or another, sh*t honestly it may be just fear to grow up, be an adult officially, and leave ur fam behind to do your own thing. But whatever it is for both of us I just wanted you to know that you are not alone in the situation and u will get through it. Try and stand strong, that's all i can really say for now, cuz when u do get through it you'll be a bit of a better person whether u can see it or not.

Girl u are definitely not alone. I am scared as hell to go to college, even tho I have taken college classes, talked 2 a bunch of diff ppl...I am gonna be 10 hrs away from home, and I'm not gonna have any family nearby. My sister and 3 of my cousins have gone to college, but they haven't gone as far as I'm gonna b goin...so sometimes I think maybe I shoulda chose that PWI right around the corner from me...it's a good school, tho. However, I talk to ppl everyday from HU and they remind me of y I want 2 go there, so I have a feeling that me and u both will b fine.

I could feel on this, basically college could make you and break you. Don't get to caught up in the social life and remember why you're in school, to get an education/degree, and last but not least keep riding with God through college and remain foccussed!!!!!!!
