I know it's a little early, but is there anyone who will be attending Howard this Fall or... at least been accepted and considering it? I just sent that NONREFUNDABLE $300 enrollment fee and my housing application so I'm going there for sure.
Man, I'm the same situation. I live in Miami and I don't know ANYBODY in D.C....not to mention I haven't even been outside of Florida. I'm a little scared, but I think the new ppl and atmosphere will be a great experience. It better be... with all these sacrifices I'm making. lol.
It isn't that bad guys. I'm I came alllllllllllll the way across the country (Los Angeles/Inglewood, CA to be exact) with no friends and no fam on the east coast. Granted, it does take a minute to adjust, but once you start to find your niche, it isn't hard to get comfortable. I ended up getting involved, making bonds, and found a family away from home. Nowadayz, I feel more at home in DC than when I go back to LA.
Pray about it. If Howard is where you are supposed to be, then God will make provisions on your behalf

I was in the same situation.
When I got to Howard I only knew 3 people--they were all older than I was and had different majors so I saw them on campus every once in a while.
Get active, get involved and you should be fine. Most importantly, go to Pre-Orientation because you will meet the bulk of the other freshmen there. And if you stay in the Quad or the Annex, you wont have any problems making friends.
