...that old skool song by Deniece Williams called "Silly"?? i asked mista chris (cldenning) yesterday if he'd heard of it...& another friend...& they both said they hadn't, but i'm sure if they'd hear it, they'd know what i was talking about... anyway though...reason i was asking was because that has been one of my favorite old skool songs since 4ever...& i have this old skool cd i made...containing it...& last night I was listening to the cd...the song came on...& this time i REALLY listened to the song... the funny thing is, i've always sang along with most of the lyrics....& i always THOUGHT i knew what she was talking about...like...someone she wanted to be with but couldn't because he didn't know she felt that way or somethin' like that...but umm...no... last night, i listened...well, i was in the shower while i was listening...and as SOON as i got out, i looked the lyrics up on the internet to make sure i knew EVERYthing she was saying....& as i was reading, this was my expression  the lyrics r so sad...& so...pathetic...i felt like i was gonna cry, man...& i'm usually not like that with songs, regardless as to what it's about...but this time...i really felt my emotions coming on...maybe because i could relate to what she was saying to a certain extent...well, actually, i know i can...more on that tonight in my Xanga log... but anyway...was just wondering if anyone else has paid attention to the lyrics....oh, and here's the link for them: http://www.letssingit.com/?http://www.letssingit.com/deniece-williams-silly-7xn5kz4.html

I love that song man, I used to want to be a singer (like, Last year) so I could do a remake and do a male version (same lyrics and all)....I used to feel that way about this girl, and I used to listen to that song alot freshmen year....the lyrics are real as hell... "Silly of me to go around and brag about the love I found And say you're the best, well, I cant tell the rest And Foolish of me to tell them all that every night and day you call When you could care less ..." Chorus: You're just a lover out to score And I know that I should be looking for more What could it be in you I see What could it be... Oh, Love, oh, love, stop making a fool of me Oh, Love, oh, love, stop making a fool of me Man, anybody that has never heard that joint needs to download it, it aint just the words she sings, it's the WAY, damn her voice...the breakdown at the end, when she be adlibbin the "ohh..ohh...ohhh" that Sh*t is beautiful...
OMG YES YES YES!! & it is so funny u'd single that part out of all of 'em...from the song...because that is the specific part that really got to me the most... like, she wants this dude....she loves this dude...but basically, he is trippin'...& acts like he doesn't care...takin' her for granted & ish... i'm glad some of you guys can relate....thought it was just me... & yes, Chad...I was wondering to myself if someone else would've sang the same song originally and in a different way, would it have affected me the same way? it's definitely so much emotion, passion, and feeling behind those words....like she was just sittin' around in her bedroom...just got off the phone w/ ol' boy...is crying...and just started singin' her thoughts aloud

The great thing about this song. . .a reason it has found itself onto nearly every oldies CD I make: She sings a sad song, truly it is a sad song about a person who is pitying themselves, while in an upbeat mood! It's a classic!
