and Chicago showed how ineffective the offense is when their defense can't carry the load... when the D for Chicago is down... the Bears are done... plain and simple... Orton is not a good QB at all... hell he hasn't been the same since that Wisconsin/Purdue game in college...
Yes, this is true D because I remember when Wisky dogged the crap out of him and got him injured and put his **** out the Heisman race.
Kyle wasent the same since then....
I'm not going to say he's a bad QB, but he's a young QB (I'll give him a chance). He has shown a few flashes, and just to reflect, some pretty good QB's had a crappy rookie year.
On the bright side, we're still number 2 in the NFC and Orton can't possibly get any worst, so that only leaves room for improvement. Hopefully Mike and Chris will be back next week and some of our players bangs and bruises can get healed up. We played like crap against the Steelers so we have to really make a statement against the Falcons and close out strong on the road to end the season. Orton needs to pick it up and let our d get just a little more rest.
OH! Just admit it the guy **** just as bad as that Harrington boy in Detriot does. Lets not make any excuses its the defense that is scoring. Their defense averages more points than their offense does a game. They need Philip Rivers Quick! Grossman his name speaks for itself. He is not the answer to the Bears offensive woes. SEEEE YA SUNDAY NIGHT (Falcons 28- Bears 17)
thank you.... Phillip Rivers would be a good fit, he'd finally get the opportunity he'll never get in San Diego...
That would be the dumbest move that the Bears could ever make. Phillip Rivers has no NFL experience, so nothing can be said of his talent. The difference between Harrington and Orton is that Harrington has been in the league going on 4 years and Orton has..... uhhh, not even one. Yes. They can't be compared. Rex hasn't even got a fair chance so they would be giving up on him too, for what besides an unproven product. It's good to dream, but there's something called progressed in the NFL, and this progress is most vital at the quarterback position. Now as I repeat, how did Eli Manning do his rookie season? How did Drew Brees do his first 2 seasons? How did Chris Simms do his first 2 seasons? The same thing can be said with Mcnabb, Culpepper, and Mcnair. Let's be reasonable for a second. Phillip Rivers has NO experience in playing, so how soon would he be able to power a playoff ready Bears team? I would personally go for a QB with a year of experience or a QB who knows the offense and shows promise himself. All they need is a QB who can do a decent job and if they can't get that out of Orton or Grossman next year then there's going to be a lot of confused league personnel. BTW, what exactly (with a first round pick QB $$$ on board) would the Bears even trade for Rivers?
They might not have a gun slinger for a QB but they sure do have a work horse for a running back. How well have the Falcons defended that this season? The Bears definitely aren't losin at the crib especially to a turf team....We aren't Green Bay, this isn't Lambeau, and this is '05.
We might mess around and sweep the NFC South. Speaking of, who will win it? Tampa is lookin like the strongest heading into the post season with Chris Simms doing a pretty good job and Cadillac running the ball well again. The defense is staying constant for the most part.
If there seemed to be an unusual amount of hostility in my post above forgive me, I was somewhat mad and turned all that anger towards sports analyzation (sp?). So sorry for anything (aside from my opinions about the Bears) that seemed to be out of hand.
O yea, yea... He would do the same to the Falcons, but Thomas Jones will likely control the game. Your run D has been slackin off since Hartwell was put out.
LOL.... What's really funny...is that he played good enough to make the Panthers look like crap.
in your world...
he ain't do any better than Delhomme... i know you are so oblivious to the fact that you can't find no faults in your team... unless the Bears are undefeated, learn to be realistic...

There's obvious faults, and I'm certainly not oblivious to them, but I'm not going to discuss them with people who, if anything, totally underrate them. Anyway if we look back there's certain flaws that the Bears were said to have, and it seemed to be the only one to hype up what was supposedly a weakness.
I haven't said Orton was a great QB at all, but I have said that he's a rookie...He's young. And he can do enough to qb a winning team even being a rookie. But hey, I guess we can say that Alex Smith is a bust if we can say Orton is complete garbage with no promise.
If you really want to know the Bears are obviously flawed at the QB position which lacks experience. They don't have the greatest safety net for him in Desmond Clark. I would be quite excited if we picked up Mercedes Lewis in April. Our WR's corps lacks depth in a bad way. I liked what Mark Bradley showed while he was playing though. Can I really say anything about the defense? They got trampled by the Bus, and torched by Ben with an injured thumb, so should I throw their potential out of the window now? I still say Super Bowl and I'll stop when they lose........
and start talking about how their going to do it next season.... You should know I'm not a bandwagon fan.
But you can't deny the fact that the Panthers looked like crap (save Steve Smith) against the Bears. I know you hate to admit it to me because I hype the Bears up in an unbelievable way, but it's true.

did you even read my comment about the Bears in the 10 reasons thread? again, stop being oblivious and read for once...
