This Question and Answer thread was developed to answer ANY and EVERY inquiry from those who have officially selected Howard University as their place for academic growth! And for those who are still undecided about where you will be in the fall, hopefully this thread will help you lean towards furthering your education at HU If you have any questions pertaining to Howard University, registration, athletics, Greek life, campus life, Homecoming, Washington, DC, clubs, shopping malls, classes, majors, minors, roomates, etc. DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK QUESTIONS! Although Howard alumni and students are not experts in all areas of college life, we will try our best to answer your questions directly and in a timely manner.
There are many current Bison and HU alums who post on this board.If you have a question that you are not comfortable posting in the open forum, utilize the PM (private messaging). Us Howardites are very friendly and responsive!

HEEEEEEEEEEEEY has anyone heard anything about meal plans??? Does anyone know when they will come and........
I'm official slated to Howard. Sent in my dues just got to get my medical files straight. Too bad I'm going to get in debt over these loans and stuff

Most freshmen get the Traditional 19 which consists of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. But if you are NOT a morning person and schedule your classes for the afternoon, then you wont need the 19 because you probably wont be eating breakfast that often.
Sophomore year I think I had the On The Go 10....I had all afternoon/evening classes and I didnt wake up until lunch time anyway LOL!
Hopefully you wont have to take out loans after this year. Keep your grades up during your freshmen year and you will qualify for those upperclassmen scholarships, work study and on-campus jobs that will help you pay for your education
It’s good to see that you are coming to Tennessee. Fisk University and Vanderbilt are good universities. Nashville is home to 3 HBCU’s (TSU, Fisk University, Meharry Medical College) and several other Universities/Colleges (Vanderbilt, Belmont, Lipscomb, Trevecca, Nashville School of Law, MTSU), which means you will encounter several young adults.
I wanted myself to come Howard. My girl Mina going, now Im at Fisk all alone!
But I sure Fisk is fine for now lol.

And I kinda feel the same way, although people here ARE going to Howard, they aren't necessarily my friends, and I'll be in another city, so we're in the same boat

Yeah Im sure I will be fine, everyone seems nice there. Most of the people from HU seem really kool too.
I havent even been shopping yet for Prom. I found a dress though and its short I had to find a date though..I think I have one now though. Ill be so happy if he goes becuase he's so tall and I can wear some big heels! How are you getting there? I have some extra room in my limo if you wanna get in for $55? Lol
