Hey yall, check out this excerpt from my book (if you have the time or patience to read it)
(Towards the end of Chapter Twelve)
Uudriqus pulled him out of the ground, holding him by the leg while spinning his body to look at his face. Moon ****, spinning mid air and kicking his opponent against the wall, making his body bounce before Moon shined brightly, coming back with an assortment of kicks to the chest. His right leg caught Uudriqus’s neck, causing him to choke with a crackling noise. Moon jump-kicked off, dropping down onto the sand and grabbing a handful. As soon as Uudriqus recovered enough to leap back, Moon had already modeled the sand into a long spike. There was no hesitation. Mwah. B****.
The long sand-spike went through his head, down his back and into one of his legs, maiming and pinning him to the wall. Moon nearly let out a sigh of relief when Uudriqus pointed at his chest, letting out a concentrated beam that went through Moon’s chest and out the back of his shirt. Moon coughed, falling back to the ground with his eyes wide and Mineeg yelled, reaching out. “Noooooo!!” Janelle started to cry, holding her mouth while trying not to seem so shocked. Orin had a pained look on his face, and Yniss merely rushed over, watching the ring’s energy barrier dissipate with Uudriqus’s death.
Her hand went atop Moon’s head, delving his body for some hint of power. Mineeg rushed over, wiping her eyes. “You can heal him can’t you?! CAN’T YOU?!” “I can only heal those who have power inside them enough to heal themselves…” she said, searching him for any bit of strength left. Moon didn’t breathe, barely blinking his eyes while trying to hold on to every shred of existence he had. “No…you can’t die…you can’t die Moon! I love you!” Mineeg sobbed, powering up and holding his hand tightly. Yniss looked over at Mineeg, then grabbed his other hand, still with her right hand on top of his head.
“Moon? Moon, do you love me?” “ ……………I don’t know…” “Am I ****? Is that it?” “ No, woman. Agh, I’m dying and you’re asking me if I think you’re beautiful. Yes, if it helps you are beautiful.” “You can’t die Moon. I won’t let you.” “That’s comforting.” Moon said, sliding himself towards the center of where their consciousness met. Mineeg knelt down, reaching over and feeling herself grow cold. “If you are going to die, at least hold me.” Mineeg sniffed, sobbing while lying on top of him. He scooted over so that his body was half in her mind and half in his, the left side of his face seemingly on fire while contrasting with her freezing self. Her pride gone, Mineeg cried loudly on his chest, power filling every portion of herself as she enveloped the both of them in a yellow mass. “Mineeg. I…I…”
The current passed through his body, and Yniss quickly closed the hole that was made, sealing off the rest of the wound and restoring order to his body. Moon inhaled, coughing when the cold air hit his lungs. “Damnit woman…” Moon said, shivering with Mineeg now firmly attached onto him. Janelle started to walk over to console Moon, and halfway stopped as she watched the two sit there holding each other. “He wasn’t meant to love me, was he?” Janelle said, looking at Orin then back at them. Her tears were of a different motive, and Orin put his arm on her shoulder. “Who knows who is meant for whom?” “How can you say that?” Janelle said, looking back at him with tears blinding her sight. Orin smiled slightly, hugging Janelle tightly. “How can you say that when you already have Yniss…when they already love each other…”

*makes a note to buy a copy when it's released* Talk about a sneak peek, I like this excerpt; it's dramatic, and it makes the reader anticipate for more. I know this one guy in my dorm who's also working on a story of his own. He also has drawings of the characters as well.
