1. teams with high payrolls and big stars don't always win championships... look at the Yankees in recent years and it will happen with the Lakers this year 8)
2. whether people call the state of Florida a sports wasteland, it is winning championships, like it or not...

I don't think u can compare those two too much because Kobe doesn't have his own team, Shaq runs that team and everyone knows that. Jordan was the leader on his teams. So until Kobe get's his own team, then who knows
