My SAT score wasn't that good neither(1600). Senioritis creeping on me forreal. But I ain't even worried though cause I'm taking the ACT in Dec. and I'm convinced I'll do much better on it than the SAT. I'm just trying to boost this GPA to a 3.0 before I apply for regular admission. But what I've heard is us males have an advantage over females into getting in a HBCU because of the female:male ratio (correct me if I'm wrong.) so i think I'll be straight. But yo The Truth, let's say i apply with a 2.9 and I get the required ACT score for a scholarship. If I graduate with a 3.0 can I get a scholarship even though I applied below it?

Last time I checked, when you send your application you will receive correspondence as to what scholarships you qualify for. If you don't qualify for any, then well....you gets nothing. However, I'm pretty sure you can apply for scholarships after you raise your GPA but remember, MONEY RUNS OUT! Getting into college is good but it's pointless if you cant go because you have no money....look into outside scholarships from private companies and organizations. Also check out other places within Howard that offer scholarships such as the ROTC, marching band and various athletics (if you play sports). Also, if you know your major then check that particular college or school for scholarships. I know the School of Communications offers scholarships and I think Arts & Sciences and the School of Business do as well.

Soo how do the scholarships work? I have a 3.95 gpa but only a 23 on the act...acoring to the scolarship criteria at howard i could get the presidential scolarship with my gpa but nothing for my act so is it based on your test scores and gpa or just one?

Um, I thought you needed to meet both the GPA and test requirements. But dont quote me on that though. You should definitely speak with an admissions representative for clarification. Here is the scholarship link: Grants, Scholarships & Fellowships - Howard University
