Big C has kind of a special situation on his hands. I want to know about any and everything I can do to increase my chances on getting in. No detail too small ladies and gents. Thanks in advance.

What's the difference between a college and a university? Does anybody know?
Colleges offer the Bachelor of Art or Bachelor of Science degree. Colleges are primarily undergraduate institutions, although some might have limited programs at the graduate level. However, universities grant academic degrees at all levels (bachelor, master, and doctorate). In most cases, if you decide to pursue a Masters or Doctorate, you have to attend a university. For undergraduate studies, they are both good for obtaining a B.S. or B.A. degree.

I would recommend doing well on the SAT or ACT and making sure your GPA is above their requirement. In addition, get involved with organizations and perform community service. I would apply as early as possible. If you wait until the last minutes, it’s a lot harder to get into college, since they only have a few spots left. Therefore, they can be much more selective. Morehouse is an excellent college. They are ranked as one of the top HBCUs. I have been to their campus and it’s cool. I know it’s an all male college, but Atlanta is full of beautiful ladies. You have 4 HBCUs within a 1 mile radius (Spelman, Clark, Morris Brown, Morehouse). Also, you have Georgia Tech and Georgia State within 10 - 15 minutes. If you decide to attend Morehouse, I don’t think you will be disappointed with the education or city. Good Luck! This is a reply to some of the posts that SincerelyKerri has written. actually it was Morris Brown (which is part of the Atlanta University Center along with Morehouse, Spelman, Clark-Atlanta, Morehouse School of Medicine, and the Theological Center) not Morehouse that lost it's accredidation. Also the acceptance rate at Morehouse as of last year is 48% (55% on average). Also not anyone can get into Morehouse, on average you need around a 23 on the ACT, 1050 on the SAT, and around 3.2 to get into Morehouse. You can check out many of these facts at Morehouse College Information, Academics, Admissions, Athletics, Financial Aid, Students, Alumni, History, Campus, Students, Faculty, Address, Tuition, and Football I think before you go on ranting about a subject you should have the facts, not things you probly heard from others. Morehouse has also been ranked in the Newsweeks list of best colleges/universities. This year they came in fourth (behind Spelman, Howard, and Hampton) in the top 100 HBCU's. So next time before you go giving someone else advice you should know what you are talking about.

Well just make sure you have a decent ACT or SAT score (I got a 24 on the ACT). I just got accepted last week and I'll tell you about my situation. You should make sure your essay is well written, have your english teacher read over them to make sure that you don't have any mistakes. My counselor did not send my ACT scores or my high school transcript so make sure your counselor does their job. Also if you don't receive anything a little after you send in your application, you should call the Admissions Office. I continually called them to make sure that all my information is in order. Besides that just make sure your grades are good and visit the school and even set up an interview.
