I'm not good enough

I'm thinking about applying to Morehouse College, but I dont think I have what it takes to be accepted. They require a 2.5 GPA and I have a 2.3 if that. They want a 21 ACT score, I have not received my ACT scores yet,but I know I didnt do as good on them as I could have. I just dont see why they would accept a dude like me. I really want to go to this school and I know if they give me a chance to prove myself I can keep my GPA in the 3.0 ranger or higher. I also dont have a ton of community service so they will probably think I'm lazy, when the truth is my last 2 years of high school have been chaotic. Ahhh man I dont know what I'm going to do. I just know if they take the risk on me they want be upset, but like I said before why would they take a risk on a kid with credentials like mine. If any of you currently attend Morehouse College can you please tell me if its even worth a try to apply?

You should definitely apply to Morehouse, because they ask you for an essay or personal statement, which will allow you to explain your situation. So if you write a kick **** essay(ask a good english teacher to help you with it) they'll probably give you a lot more consideration. I hope all goes well for you!!

Oh you stay in Chagrin now...that explains a lot.... If you really have a personal reason as to why your grades are the way they are, then I suggest explaining your hardship in your application essay. Is your main issue getting into Morehouse? or are you looking for scholarships from the school also?

I agree. There are several books available to assist you with your applications. For example, "How to Say It to Get Into the College of Your Choice: Application, Essay, and Interview Strategies to Get You the Big Envelope" by Linda Metcalf. It was published in 2007. Visit your school library, local public library, a bookstore, or Amazon.com for this resource and others like it. If you're not a good writer, they'll help. Just don't forget to show personality. Personally, I wouldn't suggest the books. I think you should write what you feel, let it come from the heart. Tell them what your thoughts are, and how you wish you could have done better. (It will show through the words). Then, you can show it to your English teacher and let her/him edit it.

As a student at Chagrin, you have access to a lot of resources that other students in other school districts wish they could have. I hope you take advantage of all the resources that you have at your fingertips.

Yea most def. I'm writing my essays today or tomorrow then on Monday I'm gonna let my English teacher proof read it. I'm a pretty decent writer though so I shouldn't have that much of a problem. Thanks for the advice everybody.

Also,if you attend church try volunteering at church. Churches generally need alot of extra help anyway and volunteering at churches means that you support some kind of cause.
