Yeahhh...soo I don't have housing Posted on 06-26-2008

I got a letter yesterday saying that housing has reached capacity. And I feel some type of way about that because I have been on the Office of Residence Life's ****, and now I'm a freshman and I'm not even sure if I can go if I don't have a place to go. I'll be robbed of the dorm experience JUST because they decided they wanted to respond when they FELT LIKE IT. Lately Howard has really been pissing me off and I haven't even STARTED THERE yet. I'm starting to have regrets about paying that enrollment fee. But yeah anyways, any recommendations on where I could stay that isn't costly, but isn't in a bad neighborhood? I guess I'm gonna stick it out because HU is still my dream school, but I swear I feel like choking whoever is in charge of all of this.

Thanks everyone for the advice. As a matter of fact I know people on facebook that are in the same predicament. I still want to go, so I guess I'll get on that off campus housing. I'm just going to stay positive, hopefully something will work out.

Please stay positive...something might become available for you between now and August.

Thats how it used to be, but because the school is so large we have no more room to house people.

I don't think I can go now. It's hard because of my situation. I'm a foster child, so basically they won't let me go far unless a place is absolutely guaranteed right now. And Howard talking about waiting till August 1st just to get on a waiting list. I really made a mistake by just staying on one college, I should've had a backup. So yeah, I guess I'm not going to be a Bison.

Freshmen USED to be guaranteed housing but that changed when enrollment dramatically increased. Now the university just tries real hard to place freshmen in dorms, but its no longer mandatory for the school to do.
