Get Your WEIGHT Up Posted on 06-19-2004
DEHYDRAYSHUN

I've been on the weights working out this summer, as I know a lot of yall have been as well. I'm still trying to figure out a way to get my weight up and get more muscle. Just wanna hear suggestions of plans that yall are under. What kinda excercises yall do to develop parts of your body. How many reps do you do and how often. What kinda food you eat to develop muscle. stuff like that.

Creatine will NOT gain weight for you....It only supports the muscles for vigourous workouts, so you can do more and perform at top levels. It kind of tricks your body into believing you can do more therefor pushes the muscles to the max. In order to GAIN weight you will need to include a protein supplement, and add carbohydrates, (pasta, and red meats are good) Whey, and basically eating several meals a day, especially before you go to sleep. If you can get your hands on some Whey-Protein caplets, they would be a good start; I hear its' a nice meal supplement which would be almost like adding 2 meals to your diet while still eating at the times you normally would. All the cardio activity like treadmills and bikes do nothing but burn the calories and fat cells you NEED to grow larger.

That diet actually works. Also along with the weights, push ups and sit ups. I max out on push ups after every weight session. Its been working so far

I'll put you on to what I did: Go to GNC and buy Weight Gainer 2200 Gold. It will run you about $25.00 I got the creamscicle flavor because you can mix different things with it. (milk, water, juice) Get yourself a good multivitamin. I use the GNC for men, but anyone will do-as long as you can get a daily recommended amount of calories out of it. Your body needs 2000 calories a day. Taking the above two things has you up to 4200 calories, and you HAVEN'T EATEN ANYTHING YET. So by the time you finish eating in a day, you should be up to between 6,000-8,000 calories. I'm not a big eater, so I'm taking in about 6,500 calories. After you get a good workout program and stack your calories like that, you should see the results. I went from 160 to 185 in the first 4 and a half months (not saying it was all muscle). I'm taking some of it off, so I'm down to a slim 177.

Yea that's exactly what I was thinking of doing so I could put on wait to try out for HU football team. I am 5'11 170lbs right now and I am trying to get to 185 at least by the end of the year but I have just been eating more and I have gained 7 lbs in about 6 weeks. I also go to the gym monday through friday and workout for about 2 hours a day, results are comming pretty quick. I started at about a plate 25 on the bench (I know weak huh) now I'm at about 2 plates and I curl a plate 5. So I'm trying to get my weight up so I can be right for HU. Question? When you take weight gainer do you start to get flabby all over that's what I am afraid of.

Good look on all the info. I've been gaining alot of weight since I've been in college and its about time i cut it down. I'm only 5'6'' and weigh about 180 (it doesn't look like it tho, a good chunk is muscle mass but i need to tone because its starting to look real sloppy). I started working out but i'm sure if I stay disciplined enough i'll see some results before school ends. My only issue is gettin sore... because I haven't worked out in a minute I've been gettin real sore and it slows down my process including how many reps I can do. Is there anyway to cheat that feeling (even just a lil)?

Best thing to do for that soreness, etc. is to stretch and warm up properly, especially if your just getting back into the swing of things. That will help alot! And also, heres where that Creatine comes in... if you enhance your performance levels with that, your able to push your muscles harder and more efficiently. try some vitamins too (mega) I know it sounds like you gonNa become a druggie, lol, but if all else fails just do the stretching/warming and don't excercise more than 4-5 days aweek. That cardio is for white collar crackas that run around downtown on their coffee break!! The hoes don't see how nice your heart looks....They lookin for them buldges you gonNa have ripping outYa Shirt!!! ****!

I played football all through highschool and I feel like I got too big. I'm 5'10 and 195. I thinking bout takin a year off and trying out for morehouse. anyway, is there a way to decrease muscle size and keep strength.( not that I don't have fat to loose too.) I bench 320 and want to stay around there.

If you want to develop arms, then I recommend working on your TRICEPS more than anything.
