Starting a thread from a previous topic on getting old. I wanna know how many people remember when cell phones were non-existent. How many ppl remember their parents giving them 35cents to make a phone call when they went out with friends? How many people even remember pay phones (that worked)? How many ppl remember the car phone (only rich ppl or hood rich ppl had that)? And lastly how many ppl still remember the first cell phone (that big phone that looked the size of a minature bat).
I remember my ma had this big **** cell phone size of a cordless phone and i remember the .35 cent payphones and i was **** when it went up to .50 but now i got ma own cell phone so its all good
lol, cosign w/ all of this...
my mom had one of those gigantic cell phones too...
& i remember i was in utter disbelief when i found out the pay phone cost had shot up to 50 cents...
i didn't even know for a looonnng time until one day...i don't know, i think i happened to pass by one and saw that it was $.50....i was like :shock - r u SERIOUS?!?!?!?
i do understand tho, 'cause cell phones made them things part of the ice age so quickly :?...it's a report out that cell phones have even taken the place of land homes in many houses....i know I use my cell waaaaaaaaaaay more than my house phone OR school phone (when i'm up there)....plus, most people use the land line for dial-up now
Gas was cheaper..... the pager era was funny too. I had this hot lil clear one. I remember my mom having a cell phone that was like the "grandaddy" of all phone. It was like a phone in a bag that had to be plugged into the cigarette lighter to work. Matter of fact we might still have that thing in a closet somewhere.
yeah i remeber my mom givin me a quater for the phone. i remeber my pager it was a clear burgundy color. i used to love to mess with my voicemail on there. remeber the little pasgers with the ice cxream truck beeps.
Twisted the subject a little bit, but do u remember when it was a rarity (if that's a word) that ur teacher said that ur paper had to be typed. And when it was required to type it u had to go to the library to do so. Cuz only the more fortunate had a computer. Don't letchu have MS-DOS, lol!
