After reading the post about what us ladies look for a guy, the question of why not to mess with a "local" was brought up.......
So that got me wonderin.......
*putz thinkin cap on*
Whatz the deal with tha Bammas around HU?
How did they get locals get the name "Bamma"?
This is the post to answer the above questions and post any interestin stories concernin tha locals.......
honestly, i have nothing against the locals. I even "talked" to a few guys who were locals (and no they DID NOT go to HU). And u know what? They were some cool dudes. Straight up. Some of the guys...like in the IMMEDIATE georgia street area, are a bit on the ruff side, but it's no reason to hold ya head all high like you're too good to be cordial. When most of em say HU students are stuck up and snotty...they have good reason to think it. When someone speaks to me, i always respond back with a friendly hello, that's just common courtesy.
I use to do that...but then when I would say hello they took that as a "she wants me" then tried to get all up in my face..then I had to show my ****...then they would try to show they ****...then I'd have to put my foot in they....you catch my drift.....
But some of them are mad cool and NOT BAMMAS...perfect example is my current boyfriend....I swore he was from New York when I met him...but he's born and breed in DC....went to school in alabama...but he's isnot a bamma...nor are his people's....they only reason I know he was from DC because he was always saying "yung"...that she-it irritates me to this day!
Lawd, i know that's the trufe. I have a friend from the dc/"murland urea" but going to Delaware State, and he says "yung" every other second. Is that supposed to be the equivalant of "shorty" or "ma"? Oh wait, no, cuz a dude can be a "yung" too. Nevamind. It's startin to grow on me tho. I bet imma start sayin it. Dang, i'm pickin up slang from everywhere. No one will neva even believe i was born & raised in Cali.
I think people's response to them is dictated by where they are from.. If you are from Down South and you are all friendly like that.. then maybe y'all be cool.. but I know that Northerners aren't in people's business like that... so I dunno.. maybe its just me... ( Lord.. please let me meet a local that breaks all of my stereotypes of them.. In Jesus' name.. Amen..)
Awwww...woo woo woo. U will. If you're meetin most of em on Georgia Ave tho, then that's the problem. There are alot of decent ones. I know a few that break the stereotypes. And trust, they come in handy when it comes to transportation  . I don't have to worry about that high priced Super Shuttle cost from the airport to HU this year. Yay me!
