w/ these comediennes playing these grade-A celebrities?? Flex playin' Michael Jackson (the thread made me think of this)... Jamie Foxx playin' Ray Charles... Eddie Griffin playin' Sammy Davis Jr... & even tho he isn't a comedienne or whatever, I'm still thrown that Leon played Little Richard...lol, shoulda said PEOPLE U'D LEAST EXPECT TO PLAY THESE GRADE-A CELEBRITIES... even tho..I don't know if any of you saw "The Little Richard Story," but Leon KILT it (played that part a lil TOO well, matter of fact :?)! So, who'z gonna be the next one we'd least expect...? Martin Lawrence?? Hmmm...who could he play...

question...do ya'll think it's more appropriate that a well-known celebrity portray another well-known celebrity in his/her life movie?? or should an everyday average joe...or less-familiar actress/actor play the well-known celebrity??? or does it not matter...& whoever can do it the best gets it??? by tha way...did any of ya'll see "The Perfect Husband" on USA? it was the story about Lacy Peterson's murder...& her husband allegedly being responsible... well Dean Cain (one of the former 'Superman's & a VERY attractive White man, if i may say so myself ) played the husband...& it was TOO eerie how he looked, acted, etc. JUST like him

I feel like whoever can do the part justice should play the part of the former celebrity...but I think seasoned actors may do a lil better cause they have the experience, and really know how to get into the character of that person they are portraying...unlike a rookie.

^^tru guess it just comes down 2 HOW GOOD THEY R @ acting 'cuz...u have some actors/actresses who have this concrete image of themselves...or they've already been typecasted.. so it's sometimes a little harder to embrace them playin' someone completely different who we are also very familiar with (a lot of comparing gets done)... like Leon...& Little Richard...lol, talk about damn near COMPLETE OPPOSITES... u're always used to Leon being the manly lady's man...difficult...havin' issues...but manly...in his movies...then he plays this person who is VERY feminine...highly eccentric & flamboyant...like Little Richard, lol...ya jus reeeally gotta go into the movie w/ a verrrry open mind  but Angela, on the other hand...playin' Tina...wasn't too hard to embrace b/c she had the same type of flare, attitude, etc. playin' Mama Jackson in The (original) Jackson Story...plus in playin' 'Bernadine' in Waiting to Exhale (altho that was later)... anywayz tho...
