I remember seeing this in the summer too. It shocked me at first, but now I figured it out. This is how it works:
Any random 2-digit number that you pick, after you've followed the procedure correctly, will always end up as either a 0 or a multiple of 9.
For instance, if you choose from 0 to 9, the result will be 0 (or 9*0).
If you choose from 10 to 19, the result will be 9 (or 9*1).
If you choose from 20 to 29, the result will be 18 (or 9*2), etc.
Looking at the chart, you will notice that the numbers 0, 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, and 81 will all share the same symbol. You'll also find other numbers that will have the same symbol as those numbers, because whoever made this tried to make it seem less obvious of how it works.
So from my understanding, it's not necessarily about it reading your mind; it's just a math game. That's how I see it.
Yeah it works...but I remember this from the summer time cause Poetiq Reign had the link up in a post then...
lol i was thinkin' the same thing...
and yeah, I remember someone up here broke it down....& it made sense....
but as long as u don't know the trick, it is a real trip ....

cosigns
had the same game in a computer math class
Each time you do it, it seems to always guess your symbol. If you look closely, you will notice that every time you "replay" this game, the symbol for each number changes. Also, the symbol that it will guess, is the same symbol you get when you work the procedure for any number.
It read my mind all right  .

"Just do you"
I founbd the answer to the trick. If you notice some mathematician, as I am, has recognized that if folow that procedure you will only come out with those answers who all have the same symbol. If you look at another number that is not your answer you will see that the crystal ball will not see "what you are looking at". Cute but it is all mathematical.
