I've been reseaching and today while I wait for my 12:30pm Political Theories Class, I came upon this article. I thought it presented a well thoughtout plan for the Republicans to Win the Black Vote!

I believe that the Republican Party will make a greater effort to win the black vote because Bush cant win the the reelection with 10%. The Republican party needs to do crate a National Republican Black Outreach Commission that receives full support and endorsement from the White House. Appoint Alan Keys and J.C. Watts as Co-Chairmen. This Commission should execute one or more of the following things:
Engage senior black Bush Administration officials (i.e. Rice, Powell) in a comprehensive national marketing campaign. These officials need to communicate what the Party has to offer to the Black community and why it is better.
Visually court black leaders and forge some alliance to help address the concerns of the black communities in America.
Aggressively recruit conservative black Democrats into the Party and support them to the max.
The party also has to present a clear plan to help reduce crime, increase jobs, and insure economical opportunity and empowerment. The **** has to think urban.
The Party also has to show that it is a friend of faith-based organizations , which is the center of the black communities.
Appoint more qualified Blacks to high profile positions. A very bold step would be to appoint a black press secretary to replace Ari.
The Republican Party has to communicate a more moderate view on issue such as: affirmative action, confederate flag issue, vouchers, and funding of social programs.
The **** needs to break the bondage that the Democratic Party has over the black people. Bush needs to present himself as the Abe Lincoln II the savior and deliverer of the 21st century "Nero" (please forgive me for using this word) from the 21st century **** masters- the Democratic Party.

and the democrats got most of black america sprung because thier so dependant on them and the government...they wouldn't know where thier next meal would come from, or if they'd be able to get a job or go to college with out them...proof of that is that blacks are the democrats most loyal group....

OK. Yes, it was a Republican who gave us our freedom. But Abraham Lincoln was a racist. He wanted the Blacks freed, but then he didn't want them in America...he wanted to send them back to Africa and other Carribean Islands....anywhere but the US. And when you think about it, he did free us blah blah blah, but he did not have much support. We got our Civil Rights because of the protests and riots of Black People. I hope you don't think for one second they were so happy about granting us our basic rights and freedoms. The economy was suffering during this period due to the bus boycotts and various other things blacks were doing in order to fight injustice. So basically they did this in order to silence us and to keep us from being up in arms. And I don't think you can even count affirmative action anymore, because as far as I know I thought they were trying to get rid of it (i.e.-University of Michigan). So yea, maybe Republicans have done some things for Black people...but it hasn't been much.

although I feel that that is a very good idea sad to say. It won't happen because more rep. than dem have the reputation as being hypocrites. In recent years, the majority of big names in Black America vote Democrat. This election they have just encouraged us to vote, but we know their party alignments. Russell Simmons is a well-known democrat so anybody that follows music or trying to get in the music industry is liable to be influenced by his point of view because they respect his advice. This year the republicans tried to used Don King to encourage the black vote, but he doesn't appeal much to blacks.
If they can get someone along the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Russell Simmons, or Bob Johnson (I think he is a democrat, please correct me if I am wrong) someone that can appeal to blacks, then it would be a lot easier than before to communicate to blacks.
