In a Nutshell:
- Michael Powell the head of the FCC, has been complained to by 18
democratic senators to investigate the showing of a film by Sinclair
Broadcast Group. The film was due to be shown in 62 markets two weeks before the Nov. 2 election.
The movie chronicles Kerry's 1971 testimony before Congress and links
him to activist and actress Jane Fonda. It includes interviews with Vietnam
prisoners of war and their wives who claim Kerry's testimony demeaned
them and led their captors to hold them longer.

Just as people had a choice to view 9/11, people have a choice to view this little documentary. No one is forcing it down their throats, point and click. Channels changed.
Cosign. This Anti-Kerry thing is the same as Farenheight so get over it

That isn't even the argument. The arguement is about Sinclair misusing the airwaves to promote a presidential encumbant. Movie theatres are in no way affiliated with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), so there's no arguement there. Sure enough, it would go against the First Amendment, but using the airwaves as a tool to promote someone whom you lean against is immoral and whomever is behind this tomfoolery should be banned from using the airwaves that they've misused. For all who didn't know, Michael Powell is the chief of the FCC. He's also Colin Powell's son. Guess who Colin works for?
It doesn't matter if the shoe was on the other foot either (another broadcasting company airing an anti-Kerry "documentary"). Conservative or Liberal, misusing the airwaves is totally immoral.

don't know about you, but i'm much more likely to watch something i don't have to pay for as oppose to something i do
i think that's the point
imagine if "Fahrenheit 9/11" had've been on like MSNBC, ABC, or something to that extent....the amount of people who will have viewed the movie would at LEAST double...
the least they could do is put it in the theaters like "Fahrenheit" & give equal exposure....
but of course that would mean the Bush camp having to be fair, and since they know of no such thing....yeah, well anyway - guess we'll be seeing the movie on regular tv soon
*rubs chin* Fahrenheit 9/11....on cable...for all the world to see... if you edit out the more gruesome details I think you could probably request that it be shown somewhere. Hell, Id call Moore personally (talk to my uncle who knows f*cking everyone) and tell him to get that sh*t on cable but the likelihood is very low because of the general eye over the cable industry isnt a democratic one.
yep, you're right about that one...
even if they did edit out the more "gruesome details" and whatnot - you could clean that bad boy up beyond BELIEF - and i BET you it still would have never been able to make it to television...well at least, not the FCC-regulated channels...
i mean, they were struggling as it was to get a PG-13 rating so that a more broad audience could view the dag on movie in the theaters...and couldn't even accomplish that...the R rating was set in stone...
and i've seen some far worse movies (in terms of criteria for the ratings) rated PG-13 that really could've been rated R....
so yeah...I think the likeliness of him getting it to FCC stations would've been slim-to-none....HBO, Showtime, & all of those other non-FCC stations would've been different...but then again, a much smaller audience would have been exposed to it at that point...
there were even some movie theaters that weren't willing to show the film at their business! 'nuff said...

so then, that would be right up their alley to pull a little stunt like this, wouldn't it?
man, truthfully....i don't care what this administration or anyone or anyTHING affiliated with them try to pull at this point....
the people know the truth....at least, those who want to know it...and I just hope and pray that Americans aren't so easily-swayed and influenced by this or Osama Bin Laden mysteriously being "found" after all of these years on like Oct. 25th  or gas prices having a mysterious 50-cent decrease within the next few weeks...
as long as our eyes stay open...as long we don't go to sleep...we should be good....

I think at this point, just about everyone already knows who they are going to vote for, so how much of an affect it will have I am not sure. But it could have a an affect since the polls are close
