R.KELLY GETS AN EYEFUL October 30, 2004 -- R&B singer R.Kelly and two of his bodyguards were pepper-sprayed in the face last night during a concert at Madison Square Garden by someone in rapper Jay-Z's entourage — forcing Kelly to quit the concert and go to the hospital, Kelly's publicist said. Kelly had performed several songs with Jay-Z, but then suffered a meltdown during a solo when he abruptly stopped singing, claiming audience members were waving guns. "I can't perform under these conditions," said Kelly, before storming off the stage around 9:30 p.m.. While security guards investigated the threat, Jay-Z's entourage grew increasingly annoyed at Kelly's antics. A Jay-Z hanger-on identified as "Tata" — infuriated that the show had been delayed — walked up to Kelly and pepper-sprayed the singer and two of his bodyguards. "Someone in Jay-Z's entourage sprayed him and two bodyguards," said Kelly publicist Allan Mayer. "I think he was upset because they had delayed the show." Law enforcement sources said no guns were recovered. Mayer added that Kelly was heading back onstage because he "wanted to perform, but some idiot decided to spray him." Paramedics tended to Kelly and the two bodyguards before they were taken to St. Vincent's Hospital to get their eyes flushed out. "I can't imagine Jay-Z had anything to do with this," Mayer said. Jay-Z returned to the stage alone minutes later and promised audience members they would still get their money's worth. "Give me a few minutes, I will put on a show for you guys," Jay-Z vowed. He then recruited rappers Ja Rule, Usher, Foxy Brown and Mary J. Blige, who were sitting in the first few rows, to perform onstage with him. The show went on, but Jay-Z said he doesn't know why Kelly claimed people were pointing guns at him. "You can't get a gun inside Madison Square Garden," Jay-Z told Hot 97 FM radio. <<<>>> Jay-Z also accused Kelly of being jealous of his talents.<<>>> "If people give me love he can't take it," he said. <<<<>>> Jay-Z said the concerts slated for today and Monday will go on. "I will put a show together," he said. "I don't really need the dude." <<<>>> http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/31383.htm --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally some Karma for R.Kelly's pediphile ****.....wish he had been beat up tho pepper spray goes away so quickly....The man is criminally insane and don't give a f'uck bout the ppl who paid to see him perform and flaunts his perv acts like he an innocent man who got tricked into liking lil girls. And good show to Jay and them, THATS HOW NY DOES IT.

See, my main question is, even if they DID have guns in the Garden (which, after 9/11, I SERIOUSLY DOUBT...) why in the WORLD would they be waving them during R. Kelly's performance? I would think that that's the point where you begin to grind...not give an ode' to thuganomics...listening to "Step in the name of Love" never made me wanna shoot nobody... Kelz is full of it, unfortunately, because his music is good...I mean, come on, talk about his personal problems all you want, but the mans music is good...I was gonna get a ticket to the show on the 12th, but I wasn't even sure if they were gonna have it...I know my boy is gonna be **** if Kelz is off the tour... How did they work together for two albums without any record of any beef...and then cant perform a few songs together...damn that ****..

well dude, you know you can always record songs and snippets seperate and mix in the elements that were recorded to make an album, heck thats the only way destiny's child made their album because of their busy schedules and time conflicts and they recorded each element in seperate studios...so im guessing j and kelz did the same thing ya know...but im not even gonna assume...but something does sound fishy about the whole thing *errrr im not a big fan of kelz music, even before the ****, soo imma bit biased....SO NO COMMENT :? , but "believing he can fly" and comparing women to "jeeps" just never piqued my interest, now jay-z is MY DAWG!

Island Def Jam Records Issues Statement Regarding This Weekend's R. Kelly/Jay-Z Concert Tour NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 11/01/2004 -- R. Kelly's lack of professionalism and unpredictable behavior has prevented the "Best Of Both Worlds" tour from continuing. Mr. Kelly has cancelled 3 performances with less than 24 hours’ notice and has delayed multiple shows by hours. On Friday, October 29th at a sold-out Madison Square Garden Show, Mr. Kelly made a statement from the stage claiming members of the audience were waving guns. Jay-Z sees that statement as the equivalent of screaming "fire" in a crowded theater and was unable to continue with someone whose actions could potentially create a dangerous situation. Later that evening, on New York radio station Hot 97, R. Kelly admitted that he didn’t actually see any guns. Jay will not allow his fans and touring personnel to be subjected to an unsafe environment created by his co-headliner. Only the professionalism of Jay-Z and other entertainers, including Usher and Mary J. Blige on Friday prevented a disaster and saved the evening. In addition, based on his actions on the tour to this point, the statement from R. Kelly's publicist suggesting that Robert was “ready, willing and able” to continue the tour lacks any credibility. In Chicago and Baltimore, R. Kelly was not "ready." In Cincinnati, Milwaukee and Hartford, R. Kelly was not "willing." In St. Louis and New York, R. Kelly was not "able." Jay-Z would like to thank all of the artists and fans that have supported him at these New York dates: Mary J. Blige, Usher, Mariah Carey, P. Diddy, Redman, Method Man, Busta Rhymes, Spliff, Rah Digga, Funkmaster Flex, Black Rob, Doug E. Fresh, TI, Slick Rick, Foxy Brown, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Memphis Bleek, Kanye West, The Young Gunz, Ja Rule, Talib Kweli, Q-Tip and Pharrell Williams. New guest stars will be appearing in continuing support of Jay-Z at tonight's final show at Madison Square Garden.

R. Kelly Files $75 Million Lawsuit, Charging Jay-Z With 'Sabotaging' Tour NEW YORK, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Attorneys for R&B star R. Kelly filed a $75 million lawsuit today charging rapper Jay-Z and his Marcy Projects production company with deliberately sabotaging the two artists' "Best of Both Worlds Tour." The suit accuses Jay-Z and Marcy Projects of intentionally causing a series of production snafus and then physically assaulting R. Kelly and some members of his entourage with pepper spray. It also levels breach-of-contract charges against Jay-Z, Marcy Projects, and Atlanta Worldwide Touring Company, the tour promoter. The lawsuit was filed in New York Supreme Court two days after the promoter, acting on instructions from Jay-Z and Marcy Projects, cancelled the tour and barred R. Kelly from further performances, including an October 30 show at New York's Madison Square Garden. According to the lawsuit, R. Kelly's late arrival at a Chicago show on September 30, his absence from a Cincinnati show on October 1, and technical problems at an October 23 show in St. Louis were all the result of intentional sabotage by Jay-Z's lighting director, acting at the behest of Jay-Z. This sabotage resulted in R. Kelly having to hire his own lighting director and work all night to solve technical problems with the lighting and logistics for the tour. Even after R. Kelly's efforts to overcome the technical problems, Jay-Z's lighting director continued to cause problems with "inexplicably flubbed" lighting cues. The suit also reveals that Jay-Z himself walked out of a show early, leaving a performance in Memphis on October 17 in order to travel to New York to attend a birthday party for hip-hop star Usher. R. Kelly's own lighting director took over the lighting duties for the "Best of Both Worlds Tour" tour at an October 29 concert at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. The show went off flawlessly that night. But at a Madison Square Garden show the following night, R. Kelly saw two men with guns in the audience and left the stage fearing for his life, the lawsuit says. R. Kelly agreed to resume his performance after police were called, but on his way back to the stage he and members of his entourage were assaulted with pepper spray wielded by an associate of Jay-Z identified as Tyran (Ty Ty) Smith, the lawsuit charges. The suit seeks $15 million in monetary damages that resulted from cancellation of the tour and the exclusion of R. Kelly from performing as well as $60 million in punitive damages from the three defendants. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- R. Kelly/Jay-Z Beef Hits The Courts R&B singer wants $90 million for "sabotaged" joint tour NOVEMBER 1--Claiming that Jay-Z purposely torpedoed their joint concert tour, R. Kelly today filed a lawsuit against the star rapper and a promoter that seeks at least $90 million in damages. In his New York State Supreme Court complaint, a copy of which you'll find below, the R&B singer alleges that Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Carter) sabotaged the tour out of "spite and jealousy" toward Kelly's "superior audience draw and Tour profit share." The 40-concert "Best of Both Worlds" tour--which started in September and had been beset by cancelled or abbreviated shows--was cancelled by the tour's promoter following a bizarre incident Friday night at Madison Square Garden. After Kelly left the stage mid-set when he thought he saw audience members with guns, the R&B star was allegedly maced backstage by a member of Jay-Z's posse, whom the lawsuit identifies as Tyran "Ty Ty" Smith. According to Kelly's complaint, he was guaranteed a bigger chunk of the tour's profit (60 percent of the first $15 million in guarantees), which did not sit well with Jay-Z. The rapper retaliated by, among other things, providing Kelly with "lackluster" lighting during the tour's opening shows in Chicago. (11 pages) ---The smoking Gun

All over some fuccing lights...well now..the mace...that I could see him pressing charges about...but gahdamn! I don't know...I wasn't a big Kelz fan to begin with...no I don't want nothing to do with him.... this statement might be premature...but its how I feel right now..
