 On December 4, 2004 a fellow student at Texas Southern University, Ashley Sloan got **** over something so stupid and she was an innocent by-stander. It was a Houston vs. Dallas rivialry fight(they're other different stories going around also) and a guy started **** and it hit her in the head and died on the scene. Some people around campus didn't even know that the campus was already on a high crime alert but I guess something so tragic have to happen to make the President, faculty, staff and also students to realize that LIFE is so precious!
God bless her famliy and friends!

SO I GUESS I WONT BE APPLY N TO TEXAS SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY AT ALL. I FEEL SO SORRY FOR HER AND HER FAMILY. MAY GOD BLESS THEM
that's not a reason not to apply
YES IT IS SUMONE SAID EARLIER THAT TSU'S CAMPUS HAS A HIGH CRIME ALERT.
Ok if you don't apply because someone got shot there that is stupid. Yes that is very sad it happened and it never should have but its just one of those things. Whats ment to happen is going to happen and you can't run from it. You can walk right outside your door at home and get shot so does that mean you are going to stop coming home? Yes the area Texas Southern is in is a little rough but the area where alot of HBCU's are is just like that. It could have happened anywhere and its not like people get **** there everyday. If thats your reason not to go there then I think its a dumb one but thats on you.

I came from a bad neighborhood in Houston called Acres Homes(one of the roughest hoods in Houston) and from my experience here at TSU (Texas Southern University) I thought it will be bad b/c its in 3rd Ward but that neightborhood have a lot of history and its coming up in a big way right along with my old neighborhood. I'm a marketing major at the Jesse H. Jones School at TSU and we're on top list of good business school in the southern region right along with a good law, communications, and pharmacy schools. Yeah we are on a high crime alert but some of the other HBCU's schools or even a multi-racial colleges/universities will have a share of crime alerts and unpredicitable events. That's life! You just have watch yourself b/c I know I do everyday!
Honestly when I first went to visit TSU I was sooo scared but when I got there its really nothing to be scared about. Everyone there is sooo friendly...well to me they was I dunno how they are on a daily. I mean I seen stuff to watch out for but to me it seemed like you had to be looking for trouble to find it. Oh and they have really nice on campus apartments. University of Houston is kind of around the corner I think but still it doesn't stop people from going there.
